Cat found herself looking, if a bit apologetic, at those around them at Lyra’s loud distaste of the party, though she really should’ve been used to the bluntness that always came out of her best friend. She wasn’t against it, either, but she always felt compelled to try and ease the feelings of other if she needed to. “… I guess it does now,” she said with a small grin, allowing herself to be pulled through the crowd and immediately feeling relieved when they weren’t suffocated by the noise and the amount of people. “I am very aware of that,” she said with a quiet laugh. “What do you want? We could probably walk to that little diner a few blocks down, if you want. They have really good fries,” she reminded with a raised brow. “Which should be convincing enough, I think.”
“And this is why you’re my favorite, you know that?” Lyra commented, bumping her shoulder with the other girl’s and as always very comfortable with how close they were together. “You had me at french fries. Tell me we can get milkshakes too and I’ll be all yours for the rest of the night.” The words came with a wink, but Lyra often said things like that, her tendency to be both blunt and crude so normal that it rarely fazed people anymore. “I’ll pay you back... eventually. Somehow. I’ll get a job or some shit, I don’t know. I probably owe you like a billion meals at this point, huh?”
