Warnings for blood and a bit of gore under the cut.]]

Hammond Innovation Center, Jurassic World …
There was glass everywhere. Holes gaped in the once-flawless window-walls, their fragments scattered over expanses of floor. As to what had hit them … Thera crouched a moment, studying deep scratch marks on the floor - then up again, judging the height of the roof and what might have fit in here. Raptors, then. Charming.
She pushed up again, stepping around the worst of the broken shards as she made her way into the Creation Lab. The power here was still on, but she carried a long, heavy flashlight with her, just in case. Overhead light reflected off the polished equipment, gleaming, functional silver and white. Thera suppressed a shudder. Incubators stood silent, abandoned, grey dimpled eggs left behind untended. And over there …
Huh. That didn’t look quite right. A door in the far wall stood open, half-ajar, but the complex keypad and security system attached to it at chest level suggested it wasn’t meant to be so. Carefully, Thera crossed the outer lab and took a cautious peek.
Tanks. That was the first thing that caught her eye, as much for their central position as the living creatures she could sense within. A cautious glance took in the rest of the room before she slipped over, fingertips on the sides as she looked in.
The pair of white snakes rested contentedly under their heat lamp - thankfully still running - but the assortment of lizards studied her hopefully, and the axolotls swam quickly to and fro behind the glass. Fair enough. She distracted a moment, hunting out the supplies stored in a cupboard below - with all that had happened, no-one had been back here to feed them for days.
There was another scent lurking in the room, an undercurrent beneath the smell of pet food and lizard poo - blood. Not fresh, but a good amount of it, staining the floor and sprayed over some of the tall, fluid-filled cylinders that looked like something out of a sci-fi movie. No corpse, though. She paused again, noting scuff marks and the print of a boot that had trodden in the blood and then walked it back out. Removing the body, presumably, and no-one had returned to finish cleaning up.
Forensic field day. It wasn’t hard to connect the blood spray to the signs of velociraptor in the hall, though who they’d killed and why they’d even been in here was still a mystery. Thera stayed where she was a minute or two more, trying to pin down a fleeting instinct, before turning away to prowl the rest of the room. Another door, this one labeled Embryo Cold Storage, and also with the look that it now stood open when it shouldn’t. She glanced through, seeing drawers left hanging open and empty.
Turning again, she looked around for what seemed to be the main computer terminal, and walked over to sit down. If answers were to be had, this would be the likely place …
nicky whined, pouting because her uncle was doing the exact opposite of everything she wanted. she had actually resorted to whining, sitting up on her knees as she surveyed owen moving around the apartment. whining louder, she rested her chin on her arms, wiggling her butt in the air as she press against the arm of the sofa. “owen,” she groaned, flopping down onto her back on the couch again. she literally kicked her feet, ready to throw a temper tantrum if he did not look at her in the next five seconds.
“oh my god, i’m huge,” nic cried, looking at herself in the mirror. she had a hand pressed to her back, already feeling pains from weight in places she definitely wasn’t adjusted to. “owen, what’s wrong with me? why can’t i be one of those girls that you can’t tell with,” she whispered, rubbing a hand over the bump that was barely even visible, her self-esteem circling the drain, not that it had ever been very great. she glanced over her shoulder, looking for the man that did this to her.
lip nearly red from being bitten all day, nicolette tried to quietly make her way across her condo building lobby, up the elevator, and into the condo she didn’t have to herself without being found out. she wasn’t exactly supposed to be out, but the whim had called and she’d gone with it, sneaking out.
“Hm...você tem algo muito diferente ai garoto.” A voz da mulher dizia enquanto os dedos passavam pelos próprios lábios de forma pensativa. “Ah, ignore o que eu disse...olá.”
"Hey, pay you fifty bucks to go pull that kid's pants down." To show that he isn't lying, the teen takes out the crisp, fifty dollar bill and waves it about the person's face. "So, gonna do it?" The target was a kid Owen couldn't stand, and it'd be funny so why not.
