A little stitched homage to my California poppies :)
Managed to snap this lovely little Gatekeeper on ragwort along the canal :)
Finally got my act together and turned these embroideries into lavender sachets :)
I love working on clean, uncluttered designs and simple colour combinations :)
Muted tones and French knots...
The pleasure of simple stitching :)
Ancient Tree - Thomas R. Ruffin
ancient tree sit there beneath winter heartbreak and be burdened by the contravention of man tree of immeasurable wisdom limbs be weighted an deadened decay will set from outward in as time is not kind all things end old trees becomes then fallen upon forest floors they rot into the earth without decent notice and then, in some time, they are forgotten ancient trees much like men yet from men escape souls and in spiracle waft they go … the souls of men but trees absent such souls have earthly bindings so upon cold forest ground they rot ancient trees

A friend taught me the basics of crochet a while ago. I’m not very good at it - but I do enjoy making these crochet hook rolls :)
Colour inspiration courtesy of chocolate eggs. Mmmm.....
Finished. The 7 little mirrors really come to life when the life when the light catches them :)
You do not have to be good. You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert repenting. You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves. Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine. Meanwhile the world goes on. Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain are moving across the landscapes, over the prairies and the deep trees, the mountains and the rivers. Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air, are heading home again. Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting - over and over announcing your place in the family of things.

Progress shot (although I think I’m done - less is more, right?).
Working on a new embroidery with little mirrors - I was out of my comfort zone with these colours but I’m really loving them now!
