Ok, not usually the one to add onto a Lily post, but this has enraptured me.
So the video she is fuming about is;
.... in his defense, Lily; if you didn't want people talking about or using that art, then you shouldn't have forced - I mean- asked M'kay to draw that. It seems you've forgotten the first step of creation and being an internet personality. Anything you make and share publicly is open to critique and opinion. And people have quite the opinion on Pokémon Madhouse.
Now, before we go to what Blake said about Lily, I would like to say that Blake is openly and flagrantly gay, makes fandom and popculture content related to queerness, and is much funnier and a level of slay than Lily will ever be. The trans joke he makes ten minutes in, "I feel like there's a Splatoon joke somewhere in there, but I prefer not to make it. Because I respect the trans community.", is fucking funny. Lily using the word "foppish" is intended to be a derogatory term used against him for being gay. She is being homophobic, and by comparing him to James Sommerton is trying to imply he is a plagiarist because that's literally what we all know Jimmy for. There are layers here, like an onion.
This is more openly homophobic, Will and Grace was one of the first openly gay sitcoms, and just using that to describe a femme gay person then yeah. You're a homophobic asshole. Womp-womp.
"But why is Lilly so pissed about this?" you ask. Good question. You would think she would have a problem because he brings up incest via Oedipus- Why isn't she singing his praises?!
Well he's a gay man, first off. Second is how she is brought up.
So, this video is separated into the 7 deadly sins, and each sin has a correlating fandom incident, lore, or general personality in correspondence. Which sin is Lily on? Lust.
Which like, yeah. She was gonna be lust. Where else was she going? Actually, lust was a pyramid. Because.... Pokéfans are weirdly horny.
She gets mentioned after the Vaporeon copypasta. And it's not even her. It's fucking G.
G, her sister Pokémon. The Gardevior.
He calls her a colorful character but refuses to bring up her being a pedophile, incestuous rapist, and wanna be dog fucker in order to move on. He refers to the Poké Mad House lore to being as convoluted as the Zelda timeline. Refers to it as a "Slice of Life Romantic Comedy/ Occasionally Extremely Dark Sitcom" (We love a tonal shift). And, funniest enough, refers to the mating bond as Jacob fucking imprinting on Nessie. He also brings up Bonnie while also pointing out how Liky and M'kay are dating and ends it with, "and they said Modern Family was progressive."
That's it. It's so tame. Not to say the Twilight reference didn't fucking kill me. But that was it. And even then, the comments aren't bad either.
THATS FUCKING IT! AND SHE IS SO PISSED ABOUT THIS!
So yeah, that's why she's mad and being homophobic. This is embarrassing, and I am loving it. Great video by Blake. Go watch and support him and his researcher!
