I remember the first time I heard the pogues. It was this song and i was drinking in the park with some buddies.. a fresh 18 years old. Shane MacGowan became one of the frontmen that I really loved. Following his career was my favorite soap opera. Other bands tried to copy them. They all failed. Thanks sir for the songs, inspiration to play and elevate (and destroy) the culture you came from

I've been putting out a book I wrote a few years back, releasing a few chapters at a time. I have it scheduled that it will be released in full by jan 1. It's free on wattpad if you're so inclined.

Today is the beginning of National Novel Writing Month and it is my yearly ritual to participate. I'm a little worried this year because there is no big plan or outline for me. I'm just going to wing it. 50k words in a month? No sweat.

Denver. Day One.

I had to travel to Denver to work this weekend for work. I'll be here a few days.

Ordinarily, i wouldn't mind, just that it comes at a really unfortunate time. I am tired. We lost a pet (that's a whole other story), and it just seems very rushed.

Still, though, it's pretty cool. I sometimes stop and think about stuff when I travel.

I used to always travel alone. I lived for it. In the early 00s, I always had a bug out bag handy and was ready to jump on a lane or in a car for a few days. It reminded me that there was an adventure waiting for me to outside this crappy town. There was adventure in this big wide world. I tried to remind myself of that today when i stepped into this town. Denver is a nice place. There are mountains, and it's 62 degrees here. If anything that is cause for celebration (it's 100 degrees in Texas right now)

This weekend was a holiday so that meant 3 days off from work.

Saturday we went plant shopping in some smaller Texss towns (and looking for toys!) Its weird because we found some plants we hadn't seen anywhere else and some toys I cant find in my hometown that is swarming with toy collectors

It's true they just don't know what they got.

Sunday we went to Shiner Texas to check out the inaugural opening of the Shiner distillery at the brewery. The new booze was tasty and dangerous.

After that we went to the semiannual picnic for an obligatory Shiner Bock.

All in all a great but tiring weekend.

Goals for 2017

Kiss every monster I’m on smoochin’ terms with many, many times

Doom every hero and/or adventurer I find

Increase the haunted splendor of the world

Learn how to program a VCR (they are obsolete but adorable)

Just so many root beer floats, just… so many

Here is to hoping your 2017 will be terrifying to your enemies and wonderful to you.

sooo.... TSS is added to this bill in August.

a few weeks ago, I decided to make a video zine, basically edit some stuff together on a computer from cell phone videos and captured pictures on the net. I looked up “video zine” and didn’t see too many things about it. I thought “gee why not, this was pretty easy to make, I got a few friends to send me stuff, you would think it would take off.

I guess it doesn’t pay to think, so I made this, it’s just the first one, I’m already working on #2... guess we’ll see if people like it.

Tonight, TSS plays the last night of Loud!fest

We’ve been lucky to play the fest in one band or another the last 4 years and it remains one of my favorite shows of the year
