Coming back to this account feels so surreal :’) I started this in 2012, like I was a baaaaaaby then. I even remember the OG Yume fam chats and when we did our huge (and poorly co-ordinated) phone call. I also remember a lot of z*ki anons trolling and me absolutely decimating them in my replies. Good times. This blog feels like a time machine. Like I see my old announcement of moving to NY here and suddenly I realize how much time has passed. Surreal, isn’t it?

I’m starting a new chapter in my life and I’m looking back at the past and ohhh it’s easy to feel nostalgic. This place, this fandom and its members filled a huge gap of loneliness in my life for many, many years. I’m so grateful for it :)

On another vampire related note: I’m watching What We Do In The Shadows and I LOVE. IT. SO. MUCH.

Wouldn't it have been better for kaname to confess to yuki once and get rejected ... instead of thinking everything on his own...this would have been a better way to write the story but hino had to create this mess ..

Hi anon! I’m never on here, and I haven’t kept up w the manga much but I’ll try to answer if u still wanna hear my opinion.

What’s his future? Hard to say. Who is Kaname without the curse of eternal life and tragic love? Who is Kaname, essentially, without struggle?

See I never understood why Hino would give him amnesia…. But keep Yuuki’s children in his life to supply him with information about the past. How do you move on from your forgotten life if ur always reminded of it? Amnesia is a shitty but sometimes necessary plot device; it can create a new start for characters, a new beginning and most importantly, it can create purpose.

He doesn’t have that now, does he?

What are your thoughts on the great hino matsuri giving kaname a new love interest cause i wish for him to be in a real romance at least this once... I mean it's like he is forever in a mutually requited unrequited love?

Man I read this thinking as if this HAD happened in the manga and I was so shoooookkkk. I haven’t kept up with VKM for at least the past 15 or so chapters so I have no idea what’s going on - nor do I care to lol

Should he meet a new person? Would that be a poetic solution to his current predicament? I don’t think so. See, if Kaname was resurrected as a human w no memories - and NO influences from his past life ala Ai and Ren remained - then yea, it woulda been a nice and bittersweet way to both conclude and set up a new beginning of his story.

But with the ghost of Yuuki (literally) and his past life hanging over him, I don’t think that’s feasible. Like, is little old Mary Sue who works a 9-5 and likes to watch Netflix on her freetime someone that’s magically gonna make him forgot about his epic life and past love story? Nah

Hino would try it, for sure. Kinda goes in line with her abhorrant treatment of Kaname’s character and plot.

My most favorite Vampire Knight Fanfic is called The Secretary by @thetragicking

I love the modern setting with Kaname as a CEO and Yuuki as his secretary. I love the choice to tell the story from Kaname's POV since he's such an interesting character and reading him pining for yuuki makes me happy lol

I really like how the yume relationships depicted and some things are added and improved about the dynamic. I really like the author's take on yuuki. She's warm like her canon self but the author added some more depth to her and made her more empowered. The smut is good in this fanfic too lol
