Goldenrod’s a big city, and it appears especially so to the tourists who come around the world to see its sights. The locals are the only ones really adjusted to the scale of the city and its many twists and turns. Even someone like Ash, growing up in the tiny town of Azalea, was rapidly becoming an expert in navigating the city with ease. Vince said he always felt more at home here, so she’s spent a lot of time walking around the city already, but now that she was a trainer, there was much more for her to do here– and so it became necessary to become familiar with the important locations scattered around the city.
After stepping out of the department store with supplies, today feels like a good day to just relax. She’s been training pretty hard lately, but she knows she might not yet be ready for Whitney and that nightmarish Miltank (and hey– she’s already tried beating that monster recently to no avail). And what’s better than training? Why, procrastinating of course, and so she’s off to the Game Corner to play the slots and some Voltorb Flip. She deserved a break anyhow. Who said training had to be all serious all the time anyways?
However, as Ash approaches the Game Corner, she notices a few people out and about– mainly one tall young man who looks like he is very lost. It’s just based on the body language; to her, he seems awkward and perhaps a bit uncomfortable. Maybe he’s just enjoying the sights around, or waiting for someone, but Ash just doesn’t think so. The Cooltrainer takes one long look at the Game Corner, then sighs softly. She steps towards the stranger, stuffing her coin case back into her bag.
“You okay? You look pretty lost,” she comments. “Are you trying to find somewhere in particular?”
Perhaps having such a large city for the first stop on his trip to the Johto region wasn’t the best idea. N certainly didn’t have the best sense of direction, at least in place like this. Were this a woodland or some other place in the wilderness, Natural would have no trouble finding his way. The man was quite used to wandering around in places others would easily get lost in. N simply couldn’t stay in one place for long. It always felt like some force was driving him somewhere. Although where, he wasn’t sure. Perhaps N’s need to wander stemmed from being kept in that... room for years on end. Or maybe it was a byproduct of growing up in the wilderness before Ghetsis found him. Whatever the reason was, the green-haired man had explored the whole of Unova numerous times and had been itching to go someplace new.
The Johto region seemed like a fair place. According to what Natural had seen in pictures and read about the region, it was quite different from Unova with a vastly different history. While normally he would walk, such a long distance to a completely new region would require the help of Verum. Not that the Reshiram had any problems flying its partner there of course. In fact the Legendary seemed happy that N was broadening his horizons.
Speaking of the Pokemon N wondered where the Pokemon had gone off to. Verum had dropped him off at the the entrance of a large city and flown off. Though Natural knew it was somewhere close and would return should he whistle for it. Perhaps the Reshiram was meeting with this region’s Legendaries? N wasn’t entirely sure what the Pokemon did when it went off on its own. Sure he could ask but the man figured even Pokemon deserved their privacy.
Currently however, Natural was completely lost in the city after going to explore it. Goldenrod City he learned it was called from the many signs sprawled about it. He stopped for a moments break in front of a colorful building with the words ‘Goldenrod Game Corner’ lit up on its front. N contemplated whistling for Verum to pick him up but ultimately decided against it. Calling down a Legendary Pokemon in the middle of a bustling city probably wasn’t the best idea the green-haired man ever had.
Fiddling with the chain of his puzzle cube with one hand, N thought about how exactly he was going to remedy the situation. It would probably just be easier to ask for help right? Luckily however, someone already seemed to see the man’s distress.
A teenage girl approached him noting how Natural seemed lost and asked if he needed help. Well it was good to see the locals were so nice!
“I’m afraid I am lost.” N replied in his characteristic fast way of speaking. He stopped for a few seconds to collect his thoughts before continuing. “I must admit I am not from here. The Johto region that is. I’m visiting from the Unova region. As I don’t know much about Johto I’m not sure exactly where it is I’d like to go. It seems to be a beautiful region however. I’m certain the Pokemon here are equally so.”
It had been a long while since Natural had conversed with another human. Of course he could talk all day to Pokemon but there was just something different about speaking with his own species. As such, in times like this the man often found himself rambling much to the displeasure of whomever he was speaking too. Hopefully the teenage girl wouldn’t be too annoyed with his fast speech and rambling.
“Seeing as you seem to be from around here, perhaps you could kindly point me in the direction of the exit of this city?” N finished finally, respectfully awaiting the teen’s response.
