Are we forgetting something? (Contains spoilers for Steven Universe Battle of Heart and Mind)
Blue looked hurt that Yellow had flat up tried to poof her. She stood up for Steven against Yellow and while they were fighting, I donât think she truly wanted to harm Yellow. And Yellow just straight up tried to poof her.
She looked lost, hurt and probably even slightly confused. Someone had pointed out that due to her depressed mourning for Pink after her âShatteringâ, that sheâs the weak link in the Diamond Authority, and it turns out, she was. Steven got through to her when she had attacked him with her ball of depression (Iâm going to call it that, since itâs a ball and her powers are depression/emotions) and it seems that she might be thinking to meet with Yellow and White (as of now that White is out of her own head) to readdress their laws, as Yellow and White have had a cold slap of reality to see that what they had done for eons have all been useless, just useless and pathetic really. They werenât happy, so they continued. Sounds familiar? Thatâs because theyâre flawed, deluding themselves to believe they are superior beings.
And look how Blue comforts Yellow after Yellow lets her façade just collapse.
Yellow had always been there for her, and now sheâs there for Yellow.
And they smile openly at each other.
I mean, weâve seen slight smiles here and there during Season 5 from our Tyrannical Dork Mothersâ˘, but this just puts frosting on the cake. It must have hurt Yellow when she realized she was hurting Blue, even though she made a valid point of Blue using her powers on Yellow (probably by accident) . I mean, look.
Even though sheâs attacking Blue after saying that she (Blue) had hurt a fellow Diamond (herself) straight up for pointing out that theyâre all hurting, that they hurt Pink for ages, that they hurt their Gems and that Blue had been hurting. Yellow is in pain.
Sheâs in pain because sheâs hurting Blue.
And that was hurting her.
It was hurting so much that she closed her eyes as she attacked Blue.
And Blue is in physical pain as well as emotional.
The look of pain, the haunted look of someone who knows she had hurt someone she loves, and they had hurt her even more and sheâs lost. She doesnât know what to do. And Steven goes even further to ask Yellow if it looked perfect to her.
Blueâs struggling to stand. Sheâs barely off her side on the bridge. But she reaches out for Yellow. What made them both happy?
Their Pink, and each other.
And sheâs broken, Yellow is as broken emotionally as Blue. Theyâre in pain. Yellow had always tried to keep her composure, whereas Blue was open about her pain.
And then it was Blueâs turn to comfort her. And she did.
Theyâre married, and no one can tell me otherwise. Theyâre always there for each other, letting the other know theyâre there through small touches, like on the back, or shoulders, simple hand holding. Hugging.
