I'm kind of really struggling with my current Philosophy of Science essay
I think the problem is that the issues involved are pretty broad and touch on so many different disciplines and communities. I have to discuss politics, society, philosophy, and the scientific method in one essay. None of those topics are really very concise.

Tip for all my student readers: if you’re too lazy to use a bibliography creator like NoodleBib or RefWorks, let Google generate your bibliography entries for you. All you have to do is google the article/book title in Google Scholar, click “cite” at the bottom of the search result, and copy either the MLA, APA, or Chicago cite into your word document.

Since registration is starting soon I figure this is ample time to remind the six people who look at my Tumblr that citing your sources is really important in college and that this will be your best friend forever.
If you’re in high school and want to go to college? Learn to source! You’ll be way ahead of the curve and it’s 100% more important than knowing what the hell a predicate nominative is.
I use http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/ to figure out how to cite for my papers, and it’s been quite useful for the three years I’ve been at this!

Fuck you, depression
I will never forgive mental illness for fucking with the first two years of uni, especially because it now means some SERIOUS catching up in my last year.
I’m falling in love with my degree again
I’m not sure if it’s because I actually got to properly choose my modules this year and I’m researching my dissertation at the moment, or if it’s because I think I’m coming out of the ‘too depressed to care about anything other than sleep’ phase, or a mixture of the two. To be honest, I don’t even care.
Student Finance Stress
I'm getting significantly less money this year than last year (I'm down by about £2000 when the loss of my Durham Grant is taken into account). After accommodation costs, I'm left with £137 to buy books and feed myself. I was going to quit my job after first term to focus on my dissertation and my exams, but I'm not going to be able to do that now. I want to cry. I'm not entirely sure university has been worth all of this financial worry.
I just finished reading my first paper on the history of psychiatry. Turns out this shit might be difficult.
So, I've managed to YET AGAIN abandon this blog. To be honest, though, it's not been a great year. My dad had cancer and suddenly most of university didn't really feel very important any more. So, yeah. I'm feeling super-normal at the moment, though, so maybe this will return. Perhaps.
Oh my, my Poetry and Poetics seminars are two hours long. English students are not meant to have two-hour-long anything. There's a BREAK for REFRESHMENTS. This is madness. How will I cope?
This was my second attempt after my first cooking disaster in the flat. I went to season my food with pepper and poured half of the tub in. It was a mess. I don’t think I’ve ever sneezed so much. My meal was good in the end.
Today I decided to get myself into debt and buy material for making bunting and scented candles. I have also been contacted by college son, and had my first kitchen disaster (I'll explain that another time, though, because right now I have to eat before seeing LAURA MARLING).
I miss Ben already, but this is softened slightly by the fact that: a) he's going to try to see me in Durham soon, and, b) I GET TO SEE HEATHER TONIGHT It's gonna be well good. I've missed her like crazy, no homo.
I have no food in the caravan, or money, so this is lunch.
My favourite thing in the new flat is the TARDIS I just built in it.
I have a stand up closet like this. Now I know what to do to it!
I used it as my wardrobe at home, but I put a big cushion in the bottom and fairy lights in it, so now it’s just for chilling out.

No, it really is. There's not really anything comparable to university, and I don't think there are many universities comparable to Durham (it's an odd little place). Everyone's in the same boat, though, and although I don't know you, I'm pretty sure you'll settle in really quickly. What college are you at and what're you studying?
Day Three in the Flat and I'm Going a Bit Mad
I am so close to being finished with decorating my room. It feels much more like home now than a really boring hotel full of boxes. I've unpacked, put up fairy lights, my clock, my pin board, etc. All I need to do now is make three more cushions and put my pictures up on the walls and I AM DONE.I'm hoping when Heather gets here we can make some decorations and bunting the shit out of this place. And then you can see pictures, and it'll be great, and you'll wish you were living with me, but unfortunately for you, you're not.
I'm not sure how exactly that's going to work, though, given that I currently have approximately £48 to my name until Friday, maybe. If not Friday, then whenever Student Finance decide to GIVE ME MY MONEY. Glorious. Luckily my mum bought me food, though, so I should be able to survive. I'm just praying no-one wants to go out until then. Tesco Value cider and squash it is until then. I call it Camilla's Kopparberg.
I just need people to arrive. I do not do well on my own. It makes me organised and efficient. I am starting to talk to myself. I cannot deal with the quiet. HELP.
It's alright, though. I'm off tomorrow on the train to Skegness to see Ben until Wednesday. Long-distance relationships, yay (despite the sarcasm, it's actually going alright, I just miss him. A lot.). I shall catch up with you after then.
