30 Days of Character Development - Day 1
Describe your character’s relationship with their mother or their father, or both. Was it good? Bad? Were they spoiled rotten, ignored? Do they still get along now, or no?
Jasinna never knew her father, luckily for her. Her mother never said much about him when she would ask, just that he had died in a tragic accident before she was even born. For Jasinna, that explanation was all she needed. She had never had a reason not to believe every word her mother said.
Jasinna's mother quite literally lived only for her. She had fled Sanitarium the moment she discovered she was pregnant, the only person she found willing to guide her to this remote, cut-off edge of the island was, well, less than admirable in his intentions. Still, it was all worth it if she was going to give Jasinna the life she deserved, far from the reaches of her father.
Her life was somewhat sheltered, as an artifact of the crude existence they eked out but her mom took every chance to expose her to the good in people and the wonders of nature, such as they were. She was always a well-mannered child, the only problem was her curiosity. She often found herself in situations that could have been bad were it not for her mother's watchfulness.
Their relationship has forever been close, and they remain so even though having to care for her now-ailing mother has started to force Jasinna to accept that her future will not remain with her mother for long. She tries to do her best and has slowly worked out of her shrouded life among strangers.
