when the cold starts to feel like texting him
white europeans love to pretend like the united states and europe aren’t two cheeks of the same ass
Peace and love on earth
"Halloween adults are just as bad as disney adults" "Furries are worse than disney adults"
I gotta be real, I thought we were critical of disney adults for aggressive loyalty to a really gross mega-corporation, or refusal to engage with media that isn't for kids, not because people... have hobbies?
I'll be real, I think the majority of people I've seen complain about "Disney Adults" are doing it because they like having a group they can feel justified say snide things about being "cringe" and "annoying", rather than out of a particularly principled stance against corporations.
I'm actually pretty sure a lot of them just wanted to be mean about somebody who likes something "childish" and created a justification in service of that.
I know it's a little early, but it's good to let people prepare!
theres a bit on the defunctland podcast where he talks about how most americans have a condition where when they hear the name of the place theyre from they just start frothing at the mouth and vibrating and then he used cincinnati as an example and i got so excited
I made you short?
i love when characters get Married but the “”wedding”” is unofficial at the very least or, ideally, entirely metaphorical . this isn’t the same as looking at two characters and saying “wow they’re married fr” there has to be a dedicated Scene with Imagery. bonus points for if one or more major factor of a standard wedding is absent (rings, kiss, witnesses,) but the Implication is still obvious. instant A if blood is involved in any capacity
i think every comic fan should have at least 1 favorite character whose characterization peaked 20+ years ago and will probably never recover to their former glory. it builds character.
bitch moment: obviously this is subjective but a lot of modern queer lit (especially YA) has this specific tone that i find really grating. i want to call it "smug" but that's not exactly it. it's more like, that sense that the author is utterly convinced of the correctness of their own worldview and expects everyone else to agree with them on principle
two poles on this one btw
author is scared of me = terrified of ambiguity, uses excruciatingly precise language to avoid being misinterpreted, treats diversity as a box-ticking exercise, bends over backwards to explain itself when Literally No One Asked, all morally grey actions have to be immediately justified and resolved
author wants me dead = protagonist is unfailingly righteous and good, antagonist is irredeemably evil strawman, narrative refuses to make space for opinions/experiences that don't perfectly match up with the author's perspective, lots of Teachable Moments where an ignorant character is kindly shown the error of their ways by a wiser, more enlightened character
#these things are not opposites on a spectrum#I see these mindsets packaged together more often than not#the author wants you dead because they are scared of you

When You Least Expect It. Probably Late March
reblog for happiness to come for you in late march!
I reblogged this last year and I hung out with blink-182 backstage on March 30. Reblogging again because it worked the first time.
honestly, last year one of the best days of my life happened in late March
