You’d think that once you finally get long term access to a cat and your yearning to have cat access is fulfilled that you’d become slightly less obsessed with seeing people’s cats but no if anything it gets worse
Now you have a whole new dimension via which to appreciate them
Tegnap fennmaradtam ejjel, hogy ezt befejezzem, mert ma at akartam adni baratnomnek. Imadom, szerintem nagyon szep lett.
I used to have a recurring dream for years that my grandma's backyard had holes slowly opening up as the dirt begin to collapse in on an old cellar. I never saw anything down there, but always had the impression that something about the cellar was evil. Finally thought to tell her about it as an adult and she just said "oh yeah we covered an old cellar with that shed back there because I kept having nightmares about it"

I don't actually think every problematic expression has a better, longer version with the opposite meaning that oddly enough no one heard of until it surfaced on the internet like ten years ago. I think that is potentially not true
"The full expression is 'the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb'." Is that why we can find plenty of references to "blood is thicker than water" from the 1700s and earlier but no reference to the longer one until the 1990s then
"It's not 'the customer is always right', it was 'the customer is always right in matters of taste'" Is that why when you look the longer quote up you get no source, and if you look up the former you get a history of how it was coined by a department store owner in the context of taking customer complaints seriously in an era of more-or-less open fraud and retailers saying caveat emptor
We can say a phrase is useless to us now due to cultural changes without pretending there was a secret, true phrase that was always there and always in line with modern values and everyone who used the 'wrong' phrase for centuries was an ignorant fool. Like, "the customer is always right" was rooted in a context of retailers never heeding complaints about safety or quality, we can just go "this isn't relevant in an era where complaining customers have too much power" without making up an unattested history of it really being about letting people buy ugly hats
I think a fandom becomes more interesting when people are allowed to explore uncomfortable ideas instead of pretending they don't exist
One of my marie kondo tidbits is that one time she really did throw out everything that didnt spark joy including her screwdrivers and thought she could get away with tightening a screw with one of her favourite rulers but instead ended up snapping it in half
So when she tells people to consider how an item helps you not fuck up your shit and thats how you find joy, just know its from experience
Did you know? That the back is made up of terrible and evil muscles that are only waiting for their chance to betray you

An absolutely wild ride with a final twist that objectively doesn’t matter but will make you do a serious double take.
