Changes and time

We headed into Byron Bay on Sunday in search of a broom via Bangalow, visiting the place we once lived and seeing the changes that have ensued over the last few years.

So much growth around our old house we could barely see it from the road.

Once we got into Byron we could see the devastation, especially at Clarke’s beach, that was caused by Cyclone Oma in February 2019. So much sand along the beach gone, the pathways leading down from car parks hanging in the air a meter off the ground. Unearthed rocks once hidden by tonnes of sand now separating sections of the beach, metres of cliff exposed.

Almost like becoming a mother (and parent in general)- changing from being a single independent individual, to growing and changing to embrace and be part of something more - the changes that come with caring and nurturing another human. The dependence and all consuming need.

Wonderful but different.

Back in Brunswick Heads for our last night, we caught up with Sam and Tara and their new (nearly 2) addition - Hank.

We haven’t seen each other for so long yet it’s as if no time has passed and we enjoyed a truly delicious dinner at La Casita - Mexican restaurant.
