CALL IT A PREMATURE MID-LIFE CRISIS , but she wanted to do more and what better way to get involved. and it got to the point where everything else felt too minuscule. but while the world itself felt like it was going crazy , his arms always seeped with that comfort that had Michelle experience a moment of jitters. that quickened heartbeat , butterfly thing. she’s pretty sure that the cause of that would be the person that everyone else wanted in their orbit. her BEST friend .
‘hugging him tightly seeing also always made her day lighter – even though admitting that would probably result in her saying something completely different. conveying warm and fuzzy feelings weren’t exactly her forte – but she tries. opening up to peter was never the issue.
“ i don’t know , luck – maybe ? “ she laughed and only pulled slightly from him , “ i love hearing you say that ,” she confessed. “ how about we go back to my place ? i’ll order pizza. i’ll answer your questions and we can have a little celebration. it’s a win-win.
MJ was a total superhero and she had been from the moment that Peter met her. They’d been kids then, but she was always doing amazing stuff, and Peter had discovered pretty quickly that MJ helped him become a lot more… calm. It never changed his priorities, but it gave him more reasons to fight for New York, to keep people like MJ safe. Not that he needed them, but still! The thought was there.
Maybe it was inevitable that MJ would follow down a similar path. She was always brave, always a fighter, but Peter wasn’t entirely sure whether that was the case or not. MJ had kind of been pulled into this world because of him. Obviously that terrified Peter, but here they were, talking about her new place with the New Avengers. Peter intended to support her as long as she was safe. MJ had been doing the same thing for him for years. “Just luck?” Peter asked, laughing. “I can keep saying it fi you want,” he offered, his tone light. “Sounds great. You wanna get there the fast way?” He asked, obviously referencing web slinging. It shaved off hours of commuting!
