that dream wasnβt the only thing that plagued her. her senses were constantly being taken over by phantom memories - small things put her on edge: vibrant yellows, the smell of burning wood, the sound of cheery music,Β and her ears ache of deep breathing, gasping, moaning in pain, weeping and shrieking - even when nobody is there. sometimes even teddy bears may send her into an episode.Β
she feels most at peace at work, the floral shop she owns next to the funeral home. there is something comforting to hestia, tending to living plants so close to a place of death. sure, everyone knows plants and flowers are alive, but, hestia actually can see each inhale and exhale the flowers take - the scent of the flowers seemingly protects her from all of the things that haunt her - the things she doesnβt understand.
aside from the floral shop, hestia finds hobby in growing medical marijuana andΒ psilocybin mushrooms. they arenβt for sale, or even for gifts, but are simply for herself to self medicate herself when she feels her mental health spiraling.Β
