Nice people don’t necessarily fall in love with nice people.

Fossilized Crinoids
A flaming double helix made of matchsticks, as photographed by Caleb Charland. An allusion to the “fiery conflicts” that take place within, and around, evolution?

Richard G. Auxilio | auxiliofaux (b.1978, USA) - You are so beautiful (GBM) / Mulholland Memorial Fountain, Multiple Exposures (2012)
Nihilist, futurist and philanthropic, Richard G. Auxilio is a Los Angeles based photographer. Dark and abstract, Richard expresses through his work the hard-hitting existential information, the sentiments concerning the emotive process relating to human and other governing generated environments. He tries to use a specific style of photography in translation of cathartic expression and to send distress and informative messages, whether cryptic or obscure. “There is a matter of the concept and subject in relation to the message that is most important before the technique of photography is formed. So being that the concept and idea are the first part of the process, the inspiration comes from everything relating to factual information regarding our place in time, living, government, and society along with the structures that build upon their illusions. how we prescribe to certain set rules and how they affect us.”
Old Hollywood noir cinematography seems to be a major inspiration for Richard, as well as others such as German expressionism, French new wave and many other foreign styles influenced by these. There is also much influence from a few avant-garde film photographers. “But mostly I’d say that the artistic influence comes from other non-photography artists such as Stan Brahkage and Sergei Paradjanov who have worked in motion films.” You can find more work on his Tumblr auxiliofaux and also revengeoftheblackregent which deals with mostly the collected film negatives from the first blog’s archive.
