Why you do it?
I’ve been wanting to do youtube videos for years, and I a while I ago I did a few that actually worked out alright, just needed to pour some time into them, time that I unfortunately don’t have.
I hope that one day I’ll get the time, because I really want to nerd out on screen, I’m not gonna do it for the fame, I’m gonna do it because I need a space where I can hit record once my flesh and blood friends tell me to shut the fuck up about nerd stuff.

“Castle Blues”
Why you do it?
Current workload allows for some free time, free time spent looking for good deals on retro games on ebay. One of them had a cool cover that gave me an idea for an illustration in my own blocky style and voila! Castle Blues
How you do it?
Pen tool, pen tool, pen tool and polygon tool for the sun/moon/devilball/skypimple

“Neon City MF”
Why you do it?
I have no idea, I was…. I don’t remember.
In general I’ve been using gradients more and more, really soft ones that either look like a slight change in color from point A to point B, or to create lighting and shadows.
Somehow I also ended up making this.
How you do it?
The buildings themselves: I used the box tool to make boxes, then added points and dragged them to create buildings, I made the base of the buildings wider than the top to create a bit of a frog perspective.
The gradients in the buildings: I made a box in a layer beneath the shape, then added points with the pen tool and made a box in the samee shape as the building and so that the shape’s outline was hidden beneath the brush stroke of the shape in the layer above it.
The lighting effects: Just boxes that I dragged in the base to make it seem like you were looking at the picture from beneath, then added a gradient that in the top had a color with opacity 0%
Neon City MF "Neon City MF" Why you do it? I have no idea, I was.... I don't remember.
I found another arcade poster with a golem type character and decided to turn it into a thing, you know, the things that I do.
This time around I used a bit more 80’s influences as you can see in the soft gradients, I think it came out great, thoughts?
