Welcome to the Xabby Parable!

The Xabby Parable is not only an RP blog but also an ask blog for questions for Xabby and Narrator. It's also multi-verse rp friendly. Main blog is @xabby09

My characters

Xabby (new employee 427); The new Stanley apparently. Knows all endings of the Stanley Parable. Has ADHD and Autism.

Narrator (Same Narrator, just stuck as a palette swap of Xabby.); The narrator has a female color swap of Xabby as his human appearance. While he does get annoyed by Xabby's willingness to disobey, he'll tell others to back off if they're being mean for whatever reasons.

Coda (The curator); Not to be confused with Coda in The beginner's guide, she is the one that maintains the parable and watches the things that happen in the office. While she may look like a strict mother at first glance, she is actually sweet and always calls any employees dear.

??? (The Curator's assistant); Not much is known about him, but he is definitely mute and always uses his notepad to communicate with others.

Lily (The Narrator's Niece); An blind eight year old girl, who has a bright imagination. Likes wearing the bandage around her eyes for aesthetic reasons and likes the way it feels.

Notes

Xabby is a semi-self insert, meaning that while she's based on me that doesn't mean she's the real me in terms of flaws, backstory, personality, etc.

Xabby's boyfriend is Kokichi from theredactedparable, however, there’s won't be any ship rp between them cause I don't want some of my followers be uncomfortable seeing that on my dash. Expect for some asks.

Not only it's a TSP blog, it's also can and will interact with other rp blogs that isn't TSP RP blogs.

Thursday shows up at Xabby's office with her towel, notebook, and pen.

"Hello? I'm here to see Xabby. I was asked to come by this office upon receipt of her message, so here I am!"

It didn’t take long for Xabby to open the door cause she was standing at the door all day. “Hello, Thursday! Come and take a seat at the computer chair.”

Xabby led Thursday to the computer chairs that she lay out for her. Once she got herself seated, she gives some snacks as a welcome-to-the-office gift. “I recommend eating snacks to hold yourself over between meals, especially said meals that are taking longer to cook.”

Once that’s done, Xabby does take a small breath to talk about the topic that she was on. “So, about Kiel and Kokichi, around November, an update came out of nowhere for them and the rest of the corrupted employees. It puts them in a forced coma while the update does its thing. However, for some reason I doubt tech support will help, the update process is…extremely slow. Like, it won’t move and no matter how hard you try, it won’t budge.”

Updates can be a pain in the ass, but an update like this is deadly. Xabby continues to speak. “But, if Kokichi was at the party in December, and Kokichi is also still in the mirror world office, something tells me that Kokichi is in danger of something and I don’t what it is. I don’t know much about Kiel’s case, but the fact that I didn’t know he can’t see his mother considering no matter how much he wants to find ways to….see her again permanently.”

Xabby wonders to herself if her headcanon about Kiel before being in the office makes it a lot harsher in hindsight. Regardless, she decided to keep speaking. “So, yeah, that’s all I know about that, but um, it seems that somehow Kiel contacted you. Is it okay if you explain it to me?”

Thursday goes in and sits where she has been asked, and eyes the snacks that are presented to her. She doesn’t feel particularly hungry at the moment, but she does forget to eat all the time, so she goes ahead and takes some with a slightly awkward, “Thank you.”

She then listens to Xabby’s explanation about corrupted employees and putting them into comas and updates and… a bunch of other things she doesn’t fully follow, although she tries her best to understand. Truth is she doesn’t really know much about the mirror world office or corrupted employees or any of that. It’s a world that’s always been in her periphery, but never center view the way it is now.

She doesn’t know how to answer the question that’s been asked of her, though.

“Well, I honestly don’t know how it is he contacted me. I just got a message on my computer, the one I forwarded to you. How or why it was sent to me, I have no idea. I guess, ah, maybe his thoughts were floating around out there in the ether and some cosmic force pushed them into my inbox? Haha,” she says, letting out a little nervous laugh - a reflexive gesture one her part when she isn’t quite understanding what’s going on. “Do you think he could be the person or ghost or whoever you were hearing in your walls before? Do you think that’s related? To me, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that you hear someone making noise in a wall, and then I get this message that links back to your office. Either way, though, how are we supposed to help them? Can you wake them up before the update is complete? What happens if you do? What does the update do?”

“Hmm, that sounds like a nice theory and all, but the last time Rui checked, it has nothing to do with it. So, it’s safe to say that it’s a separate issue. Disappointing, I know, but hey, at least it’s a good theory in my books.”

Yeah, the whole wall-banging is a different case entirely, but at least it was worth theorizing. I mean, it’s not every day you hear banging inside the walls. And even if hear the bang, it has nothing to do with it whatsoever.

“Now, I’m not too sure what the update does to them, but I guess that it’s like any other normal pc update, like more features and fixes for example. What’s worse is that I don’t know how to help them get the update finished since this is the first time the update is a thing for them. As for waking them up, Rui has done so one time for Kiel, but that’s only for his birthday. However, he won’t be able to stay awake for that long as far as I’m aware.”

This is getting nowhere in terms of helping them since Xabby has run out of ideas on how. Until she has an idea that may or may not anger her Narrator. Sure, Rui did tell Xabby about how said idea only simulates something to make sure it doesn’t affect the time and only the specific room in particular in case all ideas she can’t think of.

“Thursday, I know you’re going to hate this idea, but there’s one solution to get the update done and help them out; the skip button room. I’m fully aware of how the skip button room is and all, but it’s the only thing I can think of. Rui has already fixed the skip button room and has put it in the mirror world office as it only affects the mirror world office. But, I need you to come along with me for this cause I’m going to press the button eighteen times cause I don’t know how many buttons I need to press to get the update done. So, are you okay with the whole skip button idea? If not, that’s completely fine; it’s just that I’m worried about them, especially Kokichi.”

Thursday had no idea what to expect when coming over to the mirror world office to try to help Kiel and the others out of their living graves, but she sure as hell wasn’t expecting any of this to involve a bloody skip button. She can remember when that one skip button appeared and was trying to goad everybody into pressing it - tried to goad her into pressing it, which would have effectively skipped her straight to the end of the 30 days she had left to live.

There is no way any good can come of this.

Naturally, she has a whole boatload of questions, and they call come tumbling out of her mouth like floodwaters.

“Okay, wait, hold on - your only idea is to use a skip button? To, what, just- fast forward time for them? For us? Or- it only affects the mirror world office? How does that even work? Does it skip time only in your universe, then, and not mine? What about me? How do I know that by standing in the room with you, it won’t affect my universe? Why don’t you just press it once at a time and check on them every time to see if it’s worked? Why go straight to pressing it 18 times? You could be taking all of us to, like, a billion years into the future for absolutely no reason! What kind of update takes a billion years?! That makes no sense whatsoever!”

Thursday stops herself before she can keep asking more questions, takes a breath, and starts again, although that does nothing to calm her down.

“Look, I appreciate the heads up on your intentions here, and I do want to help Kiel and the others, but- I can’t- I don’t really trust this. I’m sorry, but I don’t. It doesn’t make any sense to me, and I don’t think it’s worth it. There has to be some other option. There’s no reason why I should need to be in the room with you, right? You already have the answer, seems like. Can’t I just, like, wait outside of your office until you’re done pressing the skip button, since it only affects your office? I can’t… I can’t take that risk. I can’t risk not even getting to say goodbye to my friends or anything. I’m sorry, but I can’t.”

Yeah, Xabby was sweating bullets about this idea. Like, it's every Narrator's worse nightmare and Thursday is no exception to the list of Narrators that doesn't like the skip button for a damn good reason. Hell, even Xabby, who isn't a Narrator is fully aware of how bad that idea was, but the update isn't going to finish today or tomorrow. She wants the update to be done today or tomorrow at least. Hell, she'll even braid one of her hair because she won't share them if it means the update is done.

Similar to Thursday, she has a boatload of answers. Unlike Thursday, she talks faster than a certain blue hedgehog.

"Yeah, and I don't think I can girl boss way through this. For them, yes. For us, no cause everyone has suffered enough from the skip button. As I said, it only focuses on the mirror world office and Rui has made sure the skip button only simulates time in that office alone. The time skip is only affected in my universe as your universe is unaffected. But, I will get tired from walking back and forth if I do that, so I went screw it and pick the max skipping instead. The update itself could take billions of years if I stand around and spin my computer chair all day. I don't know, I'm not the person that causes the update in the first place!"

While that was happening, the Narrator casually walks in, but he immediately walks out before anyone could notice him, not wanting to deal with whatever it's going on. Xabby took a moment to breathe as while she is a motor mouth, she never thought she'll answer that fast.

Of course, Thursday declined, as expected since she has friends and family she doesn't want to risk it all without saying goodbye. But, her suggestion about her pressing the skip button alone while Thursday waits outside just made her ticked on the inside.

For Xabby's experience with the skip button, she regrets that she made the Narrator suffer. But, that's not all of it. Xabby was feeling alone when the Narrator was gone during that ending. If anything, it almost drove her not to press it and have the wall end her suffering.

But, she couldn't no matter how hard she wants to stop this. So, from Thursday just simply asking if she can wait outside of Xabby's office, is asking her to end it all.

"Thursday, I understand you don't want to do this. Seriously, I do. But, when you ask me if you can wait outside of my office, it sounds like I'm off to my funeral. ....Okay, that's probably the incorrect way to say it, but what I'm trying to say is that I'm going to explain from the point of view of a protagonist for the skip button. At first, it sounds like an idea you can...oh, I don't know, more endings related to skipping. However, as you keep pressing, the guy who narrates and deals with your needs goes insane slowly over time....and then just disappears. No one to talk to. Just...my thoughts. Negative thoughts, more specifically of how everyone hates me for who I am, things that I came up with ideas from yours truly, media and characters I'm interested in, and thoughts that I can describe it can...shows that I have immoral desires that I don't wish to act on others. But, the thought of killing myself appears more often the more I skip to cope with being alone. I was getting too tired to skip since skipping is delaying my death in the long run. I tried to not skip at that point, but for some reason, I skip and skip until the wall let me escape. I thought I could go and see the Narrator and Coda again, but then I realize the sun is a deadly laser, so they're gone. I was thinking of laying down to die when I met Rui. He did tell me about himself and the whole skipping thing is just a simulation. You know, like the sims. He decided to return everything the way it was before. ...But, during that skip button ending, it also shows the side...I don't want anyone to know about it. I'm not telling you all of this to pity me and change your mind, I am only telling you this based on my experience from that ending. Hell, if you want not to do the skip button ending with me to help them, that's fine; I figure it's the closest thing to being a suicide mission for myself. Sure I could be oversharing my problems with you, but if my death can help them out of the update-inducing coma, then I'll gladly do it."

Well, well, well, the skip button is trying to pull a let’s-hurt-a-xabby moment, but the narrator just glares at it. “First off, it does matter since we dealt with this before. Secondly, don’t you EVEN guilt trip her! Sure, she’s stubborn as the mule, but that doesn’t give you ANY RIGHT to say something like that.”

“Narrator, I appreciate the fact you defend me and all, but the room is almost pitch black and the plant is starting to wilt.” “Wha- is the cactus starting to wilt?!”

“No, I meant the potted plant.” Everything Xabby has just said is true. Almost all of the lights are out and the plant starts to wilt, which makes sense since it’s skip number five.

“Okay, Xabby, I know you’ll hate this, but the update for those two will take… a billion years and I’m not even joking.”

The narrator was expecting her to screech, but it is just silence, at least until she speaks up. “Wait, you’re actually not joking?!”

“GOD, Xabby, would I joke about it in this situation like this?!”

“I don’t know, you were the one that told me about the update scenario! How am I supposed to do while the update is doing something with those two?!”

And it dings on her; the skip button is the only solution for this, so she walks toward the button, and looks at the narrator, who gives her a thumbs up on pressing the button. She takes a deep breath and pushes it.

“It’s going to be worth it. Trust me, updates are annoying as hell. As for the Narrator, well, contrary to what you believe, we are friends; it’s just that we bicker too much.”

“Yeah, you two say that now when the lights are off. Also, I’m not getting hurt by the whole skipping thing. The only thing you’re getting a skip, is me, the cactus, and Xabby’s stubbornness, which I’m sure you’ll be suffering much more… in an annoying sense, not in a hurting way. So, Xabby, press that button!”

Cue Xabby pressing the button, or rather the wrong button.

“WRONG BUTTON!” The Narrator yelled as he was ejected from the skip-button room. In a few moments, the Narrator came back via a minecraft spawn style. “Why do we have that button?”

“In case the door disappeared at skip 3 and we have to use the hidden button underneath the skip button. You added this a week ago and yet you haven’t test it but now.”

“Yeah, but for this case, you’re going to keep on skipping until the update is finished for them and we can go out at skip 18.”

With that being said, Xabby press the skip button this time.

Well, usually this is the part where either the Narrator snarks or Xabby does what Xabby does best. However, there was some concern. More specifically, about the skip button. It's almost as if the button has a past or whatever angst it got.

"...Hey, skip, you can keep continuing what you're saying just now. After all, it's okay to let it all out."

While Xabby didn't say anything, she did nod as if to agree with him. She then pressed the button again.

Thursday shows up at Xabby's office with her towel, notebook, and pen.

"Hello? I'm here to see Xabby. I was asked to come by this office upon receipt of her message, so here I am!"

It didn't take long for Xabby to open the door cause she was standing at the door all day. "Hello, Thursday! Come and take a seat at the computer chair."

Xabby led Thursday to the computer chairs that she lay out for her. Once she got herself seated, she gives some snacks as a welcome-to-the-office gift. "I recommend eating snacks to hold yourself over between meals, especially said meals that are taking longer to cook."

Once that's done, Xabby does take a small breath to talk about the topic that she was on. "So, about Kiel and Kokichi, around November, an update came out of nowhere for them and the rest of the corrupted employees. It puts them in a forced coma while the update does its thing. However, for some reason I doubt tech support will help, the update process is...extremely slow. Like, it won't move and no matter how hard you try, it won't budge."

Updates can be a pain in the ass, but an update like this is deadly. Xabby continues to speak. "But, if Kokichi was at the party in December, and Kokichi is also still in the mirror world office, something tells me that Kokichi is in danger of something and I don't what it is. I don't know much about Kiel's case, but the fact that I didn't know he can’t see his mother considering no matter how much he wants to find ways to....see her again permanently."

Xabby wonders to herself if her headcanon about Kiel before being in the office makes it a lot harsher in hindsight. Regardless, she decided to keep speaking. "So, yeah, that's all I know about that, but um, it seems that somehow Kiel contacted you. Is it okay if you explain it to me?"

I doubt anyone could hear my thoughts, but I'll be happy if someone can send them. I'm trapped in a coma. I want to see everyone again. I want to meet people, yet I can't see my mom again since I can't die due to being like this. I don't know why I'm forced to sleep, but it's driving me crazy to the point I might eat a leaf.

I just want someone... to help us. I know I probably said I'm trapped in a coma, but as for others, they're probably are and I don't know what's the status on Kokichi since the last time we talk was November and I'm convinced his body is still in the same spot we were on that day. The last time I check his body, there were some, cracks on his skin, yet it was different from my cracks. It's almost as if he's stuck in two worlds. If that's the case, then someone needs to talk to Xabby and her Narrator about this as it could get worse and I can't check it since I'm stuck asleep for who knows how long.

Usually when Thursday gets messages from Anons sent to her, they're silly little questions and comments and quizzes and things of the sort.

This... is completely different.

Right away her mind pieces together some of this information and forms a theory. She doesn't know for certain if any of it is correct, but she sends a message off to Xabby anyway, hoping she'll be able to shed some light on this.

I know we don't know each other very well, but I've just received the attached message. What do you suppose it could mean? I believe this might be Kiel reaching out - didn't he say he was going to sleep for a while for some reason or other? Plus he mentioned before that his mother was dead and wanted me to say hello to her for him when I was sick and dying. Also, remember you came by the Parables Unsolved HQ a few weeks ago and said it sounded like someone was stuck in your walls? I wonder if this has anything to do with that.

Please let me know what you think! We might need to act quickly on this.

Xabby was busy spinning around the chair while the Narrator is checking anything for anons and the like. Usually, he'll delete the spam bot emails cause they're annoying, and was about to delete Thursday's message when reading some parts of it before walking over to Xabby.

"Xabby, can I ask you something?"

Xabby stops what she's doing as she gets up from the chair. "Sure, why not."

"Did you...did you contact Thursday about something?"

"Hmm, no why?"

The Narrator just sighs and points her to the pc. Confused, Xabby walks to the pc and begins to read the message she was sent. As she read through, her face turned into concern and fear. Out of all people in this office, Xabby knows the lore of Rune Factory 4 and Kiel's situation. Yes, she's fine with Kiel being a corrupted employee as long as he controls his behavior, but she didn't know that he can’t see his mother anymore due to how corrupted employees can’t die.

Not to mention that there has been any news about Kokichi besides the fact that the last time she saw her boyfriend was during Alice's birthday party. If anything, something must've happened to Kokichi and Kiel that they kept shut about.

"Ummm, Narrator, we need to check on them."

The Narrator just scoffs at her. Him and Xabby, checking on them? Not in the billion years he won't with Xabby. "I'm sure they're fine. If anything, Kiel could eat a sunflower the moment this accursed update on the corrupted employees is done."

"But, what if they’re not?!" Xabby gets up from her chair, outraged that the Narrator still thinks it's not bad. "Kiel is not okay since he never can see his mother again and something bad might happen to Kokichi if don't check out the place quickly. The update could make their minds take a toll on them and I'm sure there are enough demons they are already fought and done with. If we don't check on them, they probably will corrupt just about anyone on animal instinct instead of their instinct."

The Narrator just listens to her what-the-hell-Narrator-induced response and immediately just sighs. "Fine, I'll go and ask Rui for assistance and the update on whatever the hell is that inside the walls of the mirror world office. Just message Thursday on the information you do know since every bit counts."

With that, the Narrator is off to contact Rui. Xabby takes a deep breath and begins to write the following message to Thursday.

Thank you for sending me this message. While I nor anyone else know what's going on besides the corrupted employee update, I'm starting to think that whatever the update is and why it's taking this long is taking a toll on Kiel and Kokichi. As for the cracks on Kokichi, with Kiel's comment on being stuck in two worlds, I think I can see why. Like, the last time I saw Kokichi with the whole update thing going on, he was at Alice's birthday party I and the Narrator went through it. Combining the fact that Kiel did state that his cracks are different from Kiel's cracks, I'm afraid the situation is dire. The Narrator is contacting Rui about this. Once you get this message, please come to our office.
