Wow. 2018 was a year of a somewhat unsettling amount of change. I finished my masters, I tasted unemployment, I am somewhat changing my life direction again, my parents are selling my childhood home, I am learning to finally how to change my bad habits of perfectionism and being a workaholic, music has come back in my life in a big and meaningful way, and I've learned that through the mentorship of some wise women around me that my feelings are valid and that having a small group to hold me accountable can help keep me from giving away too much of myself and prevent me from sacrificing my time for self care and recharging. Through all that 2018 brought, the joy, the sorrow, the euphoric musical moments, the painful deep sting of rejection and the feeling of endless grace being thrown my way have well prepared me for whatever 2019 has in store.

Peggy Carter was a positive role model for kids and took on a life of her own, which was wonderful, but it existed in a particular genre. I was yearning to expand my range. Howards End’s Margaret Schlegel was all-consuming and a bit of a career-changer for me. Being the leading actress also comes with a responsibility to help create a positive atmosphere on set, so I bet myself that we could all do strong work and still have a giggle. To forge friendships and play pranks, but still deliver on “action!” That’s the kind of working life I want.

Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.

every time i say something witty: please don’t think i’m flirting. i just want to establish myself as the funniest one here.
