remember when you were a kid and you could do all your homework and then relax because all you had was small assignments but now we have essays and long term projects for school that you’re always like “if i’m not working on it, i’m wasting my time” which is such a toxic mindset to have but the only time you can actually relax is during breaks from school (sometimes not even then cause they give you more work) which is so frustrating because you never really feel finished?

again, maybe this is just Gifted Kid shit and i’m being a whiny child and i need to be “prepared for the real world” and this really isn’t that big of a deal but i can’t be the only one that feels like that right?

like i’m a teenager, these are my prime mischievous years, i wanna go hang out at the mall or go to an abandoned building or skate around with friends and smoke some weed and just adventure around y’know?

but everyone is like no you have to study and not do anything fun so you can stay on top of your classes so you can graduate so you can get into a good college so you can get a good job so you can earn money and you can use that money to buy a house with your big strong nice christian husband and have 2 kids and a dog and keep working until you’re 65 and then everyone will kind of disregard you because you’re no longer socially acceptable at that age but it’s okay because you had sUCH A FULFILLING FUCKING LIFE

i’m so tired of that narrative you guys, i just wanna fucking LIVE ugh

i have so many incoherent thoughts bouncing around in my head rn like i just am frustrated

does anybody else avoid checking social media for a long time, not because social media is often bad for your mental health and staying off would be better for you and make you more productive but because it makes you feel better about yourself when you finally open it and you see a lump sum of likes and follows instead of seeing them here and there as they come because it looks like more when you check them all at once and you actually can suck some dopamine out of all those little arbitrary likes on posts that honestly mean nothing in the real world and you acknowledge this but you can’t ignore the way it makes you feel and you’re so desperate for anything that will make you feel something or is that just me
