❝do you know where they are now?❞
❝gone.❞
gone.
such a gentle word
why not say slaughtered?
❛ first of all; i’m pregnant—- second; i’ve got lost and i didn’t realise this was yer camp… ❜
Shel softened her gaze after hearing the woman was pregnant. She gazed her over again, and there was what appeared to be a baby bump.
"Where were you trying to get to?"
"I didn’t drive it here.. That was… a bit back. I wanted t’ head to Wellington, an’ well… we found a rest-stop. Wanted t’ see if they had any gas left." His eye darted away from her, the incident still fresh in his mind. He really didn’t want her to ask about what he did there, so he kept talking.
"Didn’t seem to have any, but th’ truck got us pretty far earlier. Kept us pretty warm, too."
"You're lucky to have the truck with you for that short amount of time, that most of been a life safer. I mean you brought that one baby with you right? I can't imagine travelling with a child that young." She stopped and thought about hauling Becca around before they were with Roman, even she had been a lot to handle sometimes.
"I mean I'm glad you did, there aren't many babies left in the world I think, it's really nice to see something like that can still make it."
theyfoundapuppy liked for a short starter.
❝’ w h o found a puppy ?? ‘❞
"A walker did..you never really think about puppies now-a-days."
"The others don’t really bleed, their organs have all mostly stopped aside from their brains. It’s ironic, really. I don’t know if I’m actually alive or dead," Aiden responded with a shrug, lips tugging up into a smirk.
"I was bit a long time ago. Right when all this mess started popping up all over the place. Obviously, I’ve changed in physical appearance, and I guess I’ve mutated in some strange way, but.. My brain is still the same. I can think, act, and speak for myself, as I always have. My mind is still entirely human.”
"That's so weird... I have never seen one who looked like you before." It was the reason why she hesitated on shooting. He looked dead but he had human mannerisms in the way he just was.
"Can you guys actually bleed out? Cause that makes it sound like at least ones like you are alive in a sense."
DDing for a party tonight, so I'm off until tomorrow/
Send "Will you kiss me?" to see how my character reacts.
"Great, lead the way. Even if we can get our hands on one, it’s better than nothing at all.. And if we can’t catch deer, we go smaller. I don’t think your group would get picky over a few rabbits, would they?" Aiden rubbed at his sore hand, looking back to her at her question.
”..It does, actually. It stings,” Aiden admitted, rubbing his hand as they started off together towards the fields. “I still feel pain, just like everyone else does. I still bleed too—I bleed a shit ton.”
"Yeah no they're not picky at all, food is food after all." She said leading the way towards the field.
"I really didn't expect people of the dead sort to bleed. I mean you are dead technically right?" She questioned. Shel had never realized just how little people actually knew about the undead. Would they die if they don't eat, she didn't think so, but who actually knows.
if you’re going through hell,
keep
going.
"I’m here—" he responded with a painful hiss, climbing out of a bush of thorns, cursing under his breath. The hunter picked the thorns out of his hoodie, and pulled a few from his hands as well, approaching Shel without any hesitation. Aiden was going to put his trust in her not to spin around and shoot him in the head when it was convenient.
"Is everything set? I’m sure your group will be happy to have deer tonight. Maybe if we’re lucky, we can get more than one."
Shel was slightly relieved to see him crawl out of the bushes, having food would be good and if he was the ticket than even better. It would of after all been embarrassing to come back to the camp completely empty handed.
"Yeah everything is set, the fields this way..uh," She paused for a moment watching him pull the thorns out of his body, "does that actually..uh hurt you?"
"No—you…uh, shut up."
Becca sighed as she pulled a hand through her dark brown hair, dragging across the skins layer with her nails. Eventually loosening her arms back down to give a, hopefully, final nudge.
An elbow to the hip, a slightly stronger force than the previous, too.
The impact of the nudge was certainly stronger than the last but Shel just grinned. Becca was persistent after all, what else had she expected.
"You know it's true." She insisted as she rocked her hip once again into her side.
"You smell like a baby prostitue."
random sentence starters
Nick had certainly been accused of smelling like a lot of strange things, especially these days, but ‘baby prostitute’ wasn’t quite a descriptor he expected to hear.
"I—what?”
Sure it was a weird descriptor, but Nick smelled like a baby who had missed one to many diaper changes mixed with what Shel imagined a prostitute to smell like.
"I call 'em like I smell 'em Nick."
"That's what's at stake here. Not choice. Responsibility."
[The amazing Spiderman starters]
"Yeah well, responsibility isn’t something I’ve ever been good with."
"You have to take responsibility sooner than later Doug."
Her words almost stung—almost.
He knows all about that; there was always a risk and you couldn’t be too careful. It was the same for him as well, but swapped; he had to look out for her kind, he had witnessed, and even experienced betrayal among them. Although he had made a vow never to help these damned survivors, he couldn’t help but to feel thankful towards Shel, for even giving him a chance to use his voice, one of the few things he still kept.
As she left him, Aiden turned and quickly retreated so a safe distance, waiting in a crouch for her to return. If everything worked out as planned, the two of them could return with food, and go their separate ways. Although it was a pity that there were not more like her, living alone and in fear of what you used to be could get very lonely, very quickly. Shel was fortunate to have her group, and this ‘family’ she mentioned.
Her group was more than happy to hear that Shel had spotted a deer, and that she was going to try and hunt it. Trying to convince them not to come help however was difficult but she managed. She went back outside of the camp where she had had her confrontation with Aiden.
"Psst," She hissed out, "Aiden are you out there?"
Going to head off for the night, I might be lurking though.
"You don’t have to tell me any of that. I’ve experienced that for almost as long as this infections been going on, most survivors are shoot-first-never-question," as he spoke, Aiden tucked his hands away into the pouch of his hoodie, his smile quickly returning to his lips as she introduced herself. Huh. This one was different.
"My name is Aiden. You go on ahead and I’ll step back a ways so nobody spots me. I don’t want to get you into any trouble," though she really didn’t have to come along, he figured it was for her to make sure he wouldn’t bite their food before giving it to them. Survivors were always suspicious, even of their own kind.
"It's nice to meet you Aiden."
"I figured you'd understand, survivors are kind of assholes like that, but it's just because we don't want to risk dying. Some of us still have families to look out for after all. I'll be back shortly." She added as she headed back towards her camp. He was a long shot but food is food after all, and everyone needs it.
