what a legend
fun fact: these are actual vocal warm ups he would do, and used this as a way to interact with the audience while being able to stretch while performing .
also he was a witch and he used it as a spell like look at that power
This performance at Live Aid literally was unlike anything anyone had seen. No one, and I mean, NO ONE has ever owned a crowd like this.
Other performers have literally said since, “Freddy basically changed live performance forever and left us NOTHING.” (affectionate)
I am convinced he was blessed by the gods. He was a fucking herald for said gods or something. Hell, there’s that vid of the Green Day fans waiting for the concert to begin and fucking singing in perfect fucking harmony to Bohemian Rhapsody! Freddy isn’t even alive and he still fucking commands a crowd!
Full performance:
Igen ❤️
If this passes through making the rounds and I don’t reblog it, I’m dead.
adding THAT video
adding the green day crowd singing bohemian rhapsody video for reasons.
Freddie Mercury’s internet demands and we adore. We never deserved him.
Research found that the heroes of superhero movies commit more violent acts than the villains
Research found that the heroes of superhero movies commit more violent acts than the villains
Didn’t surprise me.
Pretty sure I’ve said this already, a few hundred times…
“It’s troubling to me that the perpetrators of the violent acts are the good guys, because that communicates the idea that aggression is justifiable as long as it’s committed by a good guy,”
Yeah, most people don’t even bat an eye and that’s where the double standards about heroes and villains come from.
This article is 110% correct. My 3-years old isn’t allowed to regularly watch superhero films or cartoons, and when he incidentally sees art of them he thinks heroes like Superman are “bad guys” or “demons” because of their incredibly aggressive body language and infinite amount of toxic masculine coding.
One bias of this research, off the top of my head, is that a typical “bad guy” in a movie will threaten some megalomaniac violence but not commit it on-screen (the hero twarts him before he can). And I think the research didn’t count threatened violence. But even discounting this bias, the fact that heros are shown as highly violent but still very cool (Thor comes to mind, with cool soundtrack and special effects) is horrifying.
I too am unsurprised. Been saying this for a while.
I think my favorite part in any video game I’ve ever played is that bit in Portal 2 that essentially goes:
GLaDOS: “Great, this is the part where he kills you.” Wheatley: “Hello! This is the part where I kill you!”
Chapter 9: The Part Where He Kills You
*Achievement Unlocked: The Part Where He Kills You”
Loki stabbing Thor // it’s already on my Instagram & Twitter and yeah, I know this has been done
Hilarious🥀👐
This is so my favorite Thor movie
that “oh shit” line is my absolute favorite moment in the history of Thor movies
Why does this fucking movie read like a god damn crack video but ITS ALL CANON AND REAL WTF MR WAITITI
Theory: Nobody who writes a physics textbook gives any fucks
Evidence:
Update: Legolas’ pupils are about 3.5 cm wide each. Now drawing kawaii Legolas on physics assignment.
And they told you science was no fun.
Science!
I’m going to do it. I’m going to hand it in.
Legolas’s pupil size isn’t the problem here, though. 5 leagues is 17.262 miles. The curvature of the Earth means that for a person of average height, the visual horizon is less than three miles away. Even if your vision is telescopic and the atmosphere is perfectly clear, you can’t see around the planet. If they were standing on a hill, it would have to be at LEAST 198 feet above sea level in order to see the horizon at 17.2 miles away, with nothing tall in between. Which, knowing Rohan, isn’t impossible.
But consider: Elven satellite eyeballs.
you mean like
@sidereanuncia it’s back, the post that I can only imagine haunts your nightmares
I shall never find peace.
Also, for what it’s worth, there’s absolutely no reason to believe that the curvature of Middle Earth is the same as that of Earth.
There’s no evidence that Middle Earth curves.
Yeah there is. The Silmarillion states that the world was curved after the fall of Numenor (I believe), preventing access to Valinor. But Elves (among others) can travel the straight path across it.
So middle earth is round, but not for Elves because magic.
So wait, the reason he can see that far is because Elves just have the ability to ignore the curve of the earth? That’s awesome. It also means that no matter how good your optics got, you would always want elf eyes manning the spyglass because they can see arbitrarily far while everybody else is limited by this ‘horizon’ bullshit.
Oh thank God, my poor elf prince has seen too much in this post
Elves are flat-earthers
This post went from amusing to horrifying, to be brought back down to amusing, sprinkled in with some cannon explanation, and then you leave me here in fucking outrage
This post really was a rollercoaster.
for elves it was a straight line
