“I haven’t been there. I’m gonna have to go there sometime. Where is it at in Southie? I’m pretty familiar with the city, though it’s changed a lot during the time I was gone.”
“On the corner of 5th and E street. It’s easy to miss but there’s a big pink sign out front. It’s small but not super crowded.”
kaoru-takagi:
“I go for runs in the mornings. I also really like coffee, so a coffee shop? I’ve been trying to find a cheap one.”
“Trust me, I know all the good cheap ones. Have you seen Corner Cafe?  It’s a little small but the coffee’s pretty good.”
kaoru-takagi:
“Really? That’s– that’s awesome. Like, it doesn’t even have to be big or involve a lot of talking.”
“Yeah of course not,” she laughed a little. “D’you have any places you like to go to? If so we could meet there sometime?”
kaoru-takagi:
“Thank you, um, I’ll text you so you’ll have my number too… and I mean, you know, even if you just wanna hang out sometime…”
“That would be great. I’d love to hang out some time.”
kaoru-takagi:
“Oh. Yeah, I’m Kaoru.”
“Sounds like you’ve got a past too then. Don’t worry. I don’t need to know about any of that.”
“Okay, cool,” she let out a sigh of relief.
“Kaoru, alright. Um, if you still want to come over just give me a call,” she pulled out her phone and flashed her number at him, “here’s my number.”
kaoru-takagi:
I actually know what it’s like too… and don’t worry, I’m not gonna steal anything from you. I don’t take stuff from people anymore.
Probably using the word “anymore” doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence, sorry… I was in a bad place a few years ago, but that’s not me now.
“Yeah, y’know, I think we might have a lot in common,” Sophie laughed nervously, hoping not to scare him off. “I'm Sophie, by the way. It’s probably best you know the person you might be spending the night with’s name.”
kaoru-takagi:
“Really? You don’t mind? You don’t even know me.”
“And I don’t mind if it’s small. I don’t take up much space, and besides, I’ve lived in smaller, I’m sure.”
“Well,” she bit her lip, “I know all too well what it’s like to not have a place to sleep. Besides, I don’t really have anything worth stealing.”
kaoru-takagi:
Does anyone have a couch I can crash on for tonight?
“My apartment's a little small but if you’re really desperate you can stay over there,” normally she’d be more wary, but it wasn’t like she had much someone could steal anyway, and she always kept her door locked at night.
cooper-graham:
“Right! Totally. Speaking of, if you wanna meet up and hang out for a little bit, that would be cool.”
“That’d be great!” she said just a little too fast.
“We could meet up after the big parade or something,”
cooper-graham:
“Um, nah. Friends probably! I mean, like that. Probably not going with anyone, y’know?”
“Oh yeah, y’know, same,” she lied.
“I mean they say it’s more fun with friends, right?”
mary-mcnamara:
“Thank you. That is so sweet of you. I’d love to help, but I’m not sure I have the time.”
“Oh sure. I mean, if you do ever have time,” Sophie shrugged, “This really does look great.”
“That’s so good! Planning on going with anyone?”
“I somehow got Pride weekend off! Thank you scheduling gods! Or whatever HR screw up there was.”
“That’s so good! Planning on going with anyone?”
mary-mcnamara:
“So, what do you think? I reorganized everything.”
“It looks great! I need to get you over to my apartment to help me organize some time,” Sophie laughed.
mary-mcnamara:
“That’s a little…depressing. But thank you.”
“Oh no, don’t worry about it. I’m just a little under the weather you know?”

“Yeah, it’s messed up. Even if Greer kind of had a dangerous job. You know, it’s not like she was doing small stuff. She killed people, y’know?”
“I heard through the grapevine,” Sophie said, clearing her throat. She’d found out a few months before the murder, but her source hadn’t been entirely reliable, and she didn’t want to come to the station with such a flimsy detail.
Info on Sophie for the Event
Sophie’s story is essentially the same. She’s currently supplying the police with information on the speakeasy’s around Boston.
