I think the main reason why yoda/obi wan/others don’t seem to recognize each other in the original trilogy is just because, even if Lucas had the entire plot from all 6 movies figured out and tied together, for the original trilogy he wanted everything to be super secret. Like the dude who played Darth Vader let it slip that’s was Luke’s dad like a day before the premier of V and Lucas lost his shit and like banned him from everything lol cause it was supposed to be a surprise.

I more like to think that Yoda is just senile doing this, cause he literally nopes himself into death in VI 😂
