I found this super nice Battle Angel Alita Model.
Here she is after printing and assembling. I resized her, this might be the reason why I had trouble printing her hair.
For 3d printing you need 3d files in .stl-format.
Lucky for us, you don't even need to create 3d models yourself: There are many, many talented people friendly enough to share their creations.
You can buy files, join patreon subcriptions where you can get new files every month or download tons and tons of files for free.

The files need to be prepared for printing in a software like chitubox. The you can resize, tilt and support the objects for optimal printing. After that the file gets sliced and saved an a .ctb file. This file needs to be transfered to the USB drive for the printer and to starting the print is only a matter of a few button presses.

The first print
We had to wait another day for our resin to arrive. We opted for water washable resin since it seemed beginner friendly and easier to handle.
The first prints were a desaster. Tje first didn't stick to the plate, the second was completely crooked. I was heartbroken since it was the first time in a long while that I felt excited about something and was really looking forward it.
What went wrong? Somehow we had trouble leveling the printer plate. This is the only thing you have to do to get the printer running and we kept messing up. We feared we had a faulty printer.
But I'm glad we didn't give up. We searched online and found people who had the same problem and got a friendly and helpful reply from the elegoo support.
With the tips we finally managed to level the plate corectly (thankfully you only have to do this once and then only if there are problems printing or you dropped the plate).
On July 11th 2023 our first successfull print: The elegoo Towers!
Now the real fun began...
I was intersted in 3d printing for a while, I even attended a beginners course at a local maker space but never dared to try printing myself.
Buying a printer myself was out of the question...but I always was fascinated, especially when resind printers become more and more afordable.
Well, in July 2023, this year was finally the day.
We watched some tutorials and reviews on Youtube and I found an Elegoo 3Pro on eBay from the official store for 180€. I just couldn't resist.
Juli 8th 2023, just a day after ordering our printer arrived.
