WIP screenshots of the pub street in the last “scene” of my FMP’s animation with some of the key frames of light intensity to have variance in the pub signs, using the neon as some type of fly catcher for party goers around this futuristic city.

The light doing more than just moving left to right, but also turning off and on was an extra layer of animation to attempt to make the animation more surreal and unnerving.

WIP screenshots of the London Eye sequence of my FMP with some textures being applied to only parts of the model to save rendering completely different objects and lights and make it cleaner.

I’ve animated both the central I <3 London and the circle spinning around trying to imitate some of the novelty tourist items, along with the classic red busses to make it seem very touristy and scenic despite having a dark undertone.

Specialist Pathway: Lighting and Rendering

Lighting experiments using the Arnold Renderer in Maya. Some of these came out with much more noise than I intended but i still think its worth to put them in here as i ended up using similar angles or colours to set the scene for my final renders.

Research trip, lighting examples.

I really like neon light, it adds a futuristic and fun look to everything, including bars which is one of the ideas for a scene before i started the project, since the night lights tend to be beautiful and entertaining to look at.

I ended up sticking to the purple and pink colour palette as its the one i saw the most of. It is also the most impactful one i found.
