Happy Pride Month!!

To everyone who can show their pride and be open with their identity, i hope you have a wonderful time and get to go to pride events. If not please still enjoy your pride the best you can! Personally Im having fun with makeup in flag colors.

To those of us who cannot be open about their identity, remember youre not alone no matter how much it might feel like it. Whether because of your family, your community, or because youre personally not in a place that you feel comfortable coming out for whatever reason, just remember youre not alone. There is a community here for you to support you and help you as best as we're able.

Everyone remember to stay safe. Dtay hydrated at events, and take care of yourselves at home. Lets have a good pride this year everyone!

What you can do instead:

Put googley eyes on things

Buy plastic dinosaur toys and put them in someone’s room

Randomly play songs in your home and start dancing

Put balloons in someone’s office/home

Build a pillow fort and defend it by throwing pillows at them

Nerf gun fight (make sure to arm them too)

Hide their favorite breakfast/snack food for a little bit

Dye their milk blue (only do it to single serves)

Stack all your pillows on one couch seat and sit on it

Fill bathtub with packing peanuts

Hey so uh,

As a trans guy who’s been working out for a few years now and has learned a lot about their body and building muscle and whatnot in the process, here’s something I don’t see mentioned, like ever. 

Abs don’t really look Like That™ when they’re relaxed.

Here’s a few examples from a Reddit thread asking for pictures of people both flexing and not flexing their abs

I rarely see male body positivity posts in general but I’ve never seen this mentioned, and honestly? Call me stupid for it if you want, but I genuinely thought that super defined look was something that was achievable in a relaxed state, simply because I’ve never seen anything to the contrary. 

As someone with body dysmorphia as well as dysphoria, you can imagine the damaging effects that might have had on my mental health trying by to achieve the impossible. I can only imagine how many other masculine folk out there could be struggling with the exact same thing.

Anyway like, this is mostly to point out for masculine folks that might be pushing themselves too hard, that you’re probably doing better than you realise.

Anecdotal stuff aside, this is an important thing for artists to remember as well! This is something I never realised despite being an artist that goes to figure drawing classes on the regular and having modelled for them myself- because of course people with abs are flexing for the poses! Why It Feels Good to Wear "Opposite Sex" clothes sometimes Like seriously dude, don't question it. Even if it seems odd to you for me to be wearing something typically worn by the opposite sex, it makes me feel good. So if I choose a top hat over a tiara or a pair of sneakers over boots, don't question me. Just shut the hell up and let me wear what I want, even if it doesn't go with my assigned gender.

I have a question. Trying to identify myself, sometimes I prefer a female pronoun, but most times I'd prefer a male pronoun, and then other times I'd just prefer to not have a gender? I don't think I'd ever get a sex change, but I have thought about top surgery before cause I just hate having breasts no matter my preferred pronoun at the time. Idk, I'm just not sure who to talk to about it cause my family's been telling me "It's just a phase" for years..

Heya, I’m really glad you felt comfortable enough to talk to us about it! If you’re looking for a place to start with terminology, perhaps you should look into agenderflux or genderfluid. And while that’s a good place to start, because sometimes having a term for what it is you feel and who you are can really help, keep in mind you don’t need one if you don’t want one! You can rock as you are and be proud of who you are either way!As for the surgery, that is a very personal decision and varies from person to person on the “right” answer. Because only you can decide what’s right for you. Top surgery is a pretty serious choice to make and if that’s what you decide is best for you then go for it!! If not, we recommend trying binding because while maybe you decide surgery isn’t your best choice you still shouldn’t have to hate your body for being what it is. We’d also recommend maybe to try binding for a while if you do decide to talk to your doctor just to figure out if that works for you. Everyone’s bodies are different and what works for some people won’t necessarily work for you and no matter what we want you to be happy, healthy, and comfortable with your body and who you are. (Mod R specifically comments that lower surgery for afab people really don’t that great and you shouldn’t feel bad for not wanting or considering it. Personally I agree.) And I am so sorry that your family isn’t more understanding but I am glad you had the courage to talk to us and ask us this. It’s not just a phase, this is who you are. (Baring some like, pod people epidemic where humanity is replaced by aliens and then that would definitely not be who you are because it wouldn’t be you but like. Yknow) All joking aside though, finding out who you are and your identity can be trying and hearing that from people who are supposed to support you doesn’t help. But there are people here who will always be willing to support you, and an entire community of us ready to help. You’ve got this, you’re rad, and nothing can stop you. What you decide to do is your decision and yours only. Remember that.
