The Ultimate Star Trek Voyager Tournament
The Final Match
Year of Hell (S4E8+9) vs Night (S5E1)
Seven months later, and we’re finally here. This is the final match in this tournament, and one of these episodes will be the winner!
Will it be the episode where Voyager faces a year of hell or will it be the episode where Janeway faces her own personal hell?
Which episode is your winner?

The Ultimate Star Trek Voyager Tournament
Round 7 - Match 1 of 2
Year of Hell (S4E8+9) vs The Killing Game (S4E18+19)
Which episode will make it to the final round? Will it be tank top Janeway or white suit Janeway? Voyager faces a year of hell when a temporal Krenim weapon changes the space around them and shifts the balance of power. It seems as if Voyager has run out of luck and won’t make it much further, but a Captain never abandons ship.
Perhaps holographic mind wiping and subsequent beating by Hirogen could be seen as a year of Hell too, we don’t know how time works for the altered crew in their holographic simulation! The Voyagers don’t remember their former lives, and now Kathryn is Cathrine who’s leading a resistance movement against Nazis in France during the occupation. That’s very (actual historical) Maquis of her! Can the movement survive until American reinforcements survive? How will the crew survive if they don’t even remember who they are?

The Ultimate Star Trek Voyager Tournament
Round 5 - Match 6
Scorpion (S3E26+S4E1) vs Scientific Method (S4E7)
Why are Borg cubes ignoring Voyager? What are they running away from? An alien species from fluidic space are fighting the Borg and winning, and they are threatening to eradicate all life in this galaxy. Voyager seems to be out of options, with vast stretches of Borg space ahead of them. Should Voyager turn back and seek an M-class planet to settle down on? Janeway refuses to give up the possibility of getting back home, so she makes a deal with the Borg…
When Tuvok asks Janeway if she wants to flog the crew, she gets a wakeup call. She’s been driven to the brink of insanity by terrible headaches, and now strange things are happening to the crew. Chakotay’s old and Neelix is another species. The Doctor manages to get Seven of Nine to see the alien intruders who are messing with the crew’s DNA, but when Seven manages to make these intruders visible to the whole crew it’s already too late. These aliens threaten to kill everyone if they can’t proceed with their experiments, but once a crew member dies Janeway has has enough. She’ll pilot Voyager through a binary pulsar to get rid of these aliens!

The Ultimate Star Trek Voyager Tournament
Round 4 - Match 12
One (S4E25) vs Worst Case Scenario (S3E25)
These two episodes are also back after Wildcard Tournament 1, and they’re both penultimate episodes in their seasons. Seven and the EMH are the only crew members who can survive in a nebula that Voyager must cross, so Seven is responsible for the lives of the whole crew who are put into stasis pods. How can a former Borg drone handle this prolonged isolation?
Seska’s back! This time, her mutiny is succeeding too… Is this an alternate past? Well… yeah it kind of is. It’s a holodeck program allowing the crew to play along in a Maquis mutiny on Voyager, and the whole crew is enjoying the program. It’s the ultimate what if scenario, in fact you could say it’s the worst case scenario! Who wrote this program? Will it stir up trouble amongst the crew?

The Ultimate Star Trek Voyager Tournament
Round 3 - Match 11
Dark Frontier (S5E15) vs Year of Hell (S4E8+9)
The old Janeway can’t come to the phone, because now we have Captain Janeway of the pirate ship Voyager who’s intent on looting the Borg… Unfortunately the Borg Queen is onto their plans, and she has plans of her own. She wants Seven of Nine to rejoin the collective and tells Seven that she’ll spare Voyager and its crew if she rejoins them on Voyager’s next Borg pillaging mission. Will Seven return to the Borg to save her new collective?
Voyager’s passing through contested space so… it’s like any other day onboard the ship! Apparently they have nothing to worry about, until a temporal wave changes everything and suddenly the puny Krenim forces are that of a mighty empire and they’re relentlessly pursuing Voyager. The Krenim have a temporal scientist on a ship deploying temporal weapons, and now he’s intent on destroying Voyager but his time is up… because Janeway’s wearing a tank top!

Round 3 - Match 5
Resistance (S2E12) vs Relativity (S5E23)
Janeway’s trying to free Tuvok and B’elanna from an alien prison, but she ends up adopting a dad. He thinks she’s his daughter, and Janeway goes along with it because she needs all the help she can get. He might be seen as old and crazy, but could his madness the best method of resistance?
Seven’s been recruited on a mission! She’s trying to stop a temporal anomaly, because someone has planted a bomb onboard… But who would want to deploy time weapons against this ship? Species 8472? The Borg? No, apparently it’s Captain Braxton doing a little bit of time terrorism to avenge the past that Voyager accidentally got him stuck in! In fact, he specifically wants to get revenge on Janeway in the future so he’ll place the bomb in the past. Now Janeway has to apprehend future Braxton in the past… Are you getting a headache yet?

Round 2 - Match 15
Parallax (S1E2) vs The Q and the Grey (S3E11)
Voyager has taken in a Maquis crew, and they’re now supposed to be one Starfleet crew but the integration isn’t completely smooth. Chakotay tries to keep his crew from ideas of mutiny, but he will not be Janeway’s token Maquis. Can he make Janeway see that B’elanna should be the heir engineer onboard? Nothing brings people together like an anomaly!
Q is down bad for… Janeway? Isn’t he in love with Picard? Well, it turns out that Q wants to have a Qman baby to save the Q continuum, and he wants Janeway to be the baby’s mother. Will Janeway birth an omnipotent baby to get her crew home? Well, no, not for all the puppies in the world. What’s a Q to do?

Round 2 - Match 14
Night (S5E1) vs One (S4E25)
Without stars to guide her, Janeway is lost. Not literally, but you know, in spirit. The crushing guilt of her decision that stranded them in the Delta Quadrant has caught up with her, and she’s self isolating when the crew needs her most. Chakotay is not succeeding in his efforts to get Janeway back to the bridge, but a rude garbage man in space might just do the trick. It’s time to take out the trash!
Seven is the only crew member, apart from the Doctor, who can survive inside a toxic nebula that Voyager must cross. Naturally, she gets to be responsible for the whole crew whilst they are in stasis pods. No biggie, right? Well, for a former Drone still getting used to having her thoughts to herself, this isolation is jarring. Can Seven manage on her own and keep the crew alive?
