So like, I’m looking into the concept of Djinn at the moment, and like, Arabian Nights is the book where there’s apparently the first recorded concept of wish granting Djinni? I mean fair, but how do I now accurately depict Djinni in a fantasy setting, keeping with their newfound elemental ties, whilst being faithful to the folklore they’re from??

For reference in Islamic culture Djinn are alternate society to humans. Humans are said to be made of clay, so the Djinn of fire. Which is super cool! But - entirely unrelated. Any suggestions??

Thinking about worldbuilding stuffs, like holidays and festivals for example. How do they come about in your worlds? How are they celebrated? What’s the significance of them? When do they happen, is it the same day every year, or does it follow the same sort of lunar cycle? Perhaps just at the end of a season.

I think these are all things people need to consider, at least I do! I like having fleshed out worlds, that feel like a whole host of people live within them.

I wonder if people in fantasy games if they were real would consider what we have in our world, and consider it fantasy, like the fact that we have advanced technology that allows us to communicate, purchase things, and access wild repositories of information? They’d think we’re really smart :)
