grief, i’ve learned, is really just love. it’s all the love you want to give but cannot. all that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and the hollow part of your chest. grief is just love with no place to go.

Also this year has been the worst of my life.

Grandpa died middle of June, expected but still sad.

Ten days later, when I was 9 months pregnant, my best friend died in front of me.

My person for more than ten years. The one who was there for me through everything and vice versa. The person who introduced me to my husband. One of the most excited to meet my baby. I was at her house for a game night and she dropped in front of me from an aneurysm. I was the one who called 911. I’ll never forget it.

Two weeks later I had my baby and the next day they took her from me and transferred her to the children’s hospital for bilious vomiting. She was there for a month and had to get major surgery. She’s okay but after all of the bullshit of 2020 it was just another awful thing. This thing that was supposed to make me happy and turn the year around turned into just another shitty thing.

She’s home and okay now. I’m dealing okay with the mess of the rest of this year. But damn the shitshow that is 2020, am I right?

there is nothing you can say that will make me stop occasionally putting a q tip in my ear to remove ear wax. i know the ear is self cleaning. i know it doesnt need to be done at all, and in rare cases where earwax buildup actually does need to be removed this is absolutely not the way. i know theres a risk of serious injury to the inner ear. i know there is no material benefit and it can only do harm. but heres the deal: i dont care. im fully aware and im going to do it anyway. im fucking crazy.. but im free
