Hitchin' Through Life

Hand out to the road Lookin' for someone To help me with this load Been walkin' for 10 long days Got no destination Just want to be somewhere that isn't gray

These old boots are falling apart Soon they'll join the remnants of my heart Scattered to the four winds Never to return again I'm not broken Only broken in I repented for all my sin And still couldn't find a way in So I took to the road Nothing but hope in my pocket And strength to fill me in The fire warms me at night And the coyotes howl is the music I know I've felt more at home in this forest Then I ever did in a house of brick and stone I've walked for 10 long days This is only the start I'll be walking to my grave Through the lowlands Over the brush Down past the rivers And maybe I'll find one day Where my heart scattered out to - Justin Welch
