I know that, per the name of this blog, I will get absolutely flamed and hated on. But I do not care. It's literally just MY opinion. I think it's funny that people who don't know me care this much about what I do and how I feel.

Censorship/DNI Hot Take:

Holy shit, man.

You can't expect everyone on the internet to cater to your needs and triggers. If you see something that triggers you, just take a breath and scroll. Move on. Not everyone cares about niche triggers.

Don't comment. Just leave/block and MOVE YOUR ASS ON.

No one cares about your Bible-long, hyper-specific, bullshit that is your DNI/trigger list.

Also. Just because something makes you uncomfortable or triggered doesn't mean it needs censorship or banning. Just leave it. Avoid it.

DO NOT GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO FIND AND HATE ON WHAT YOU FIND UNCOMFORTABLE! YOU AVOID IT, DIPSHIT!

You are not allowed to complain and whine about shit like this when you go out of your way to find it.

Pro/Dark/Com Ship Hot Take:

Being pro/dark/com ship doesn't make someone a pedophile. Stop throwing around that word. What someone likes in fiction shouldn't be a representation of their real life morals.

First! You guys need to understand that proship, darkship, and comship are different terms. Lumping them together makes the original meaning muddled. Proship is simply meant to mean let people ship what they want. Anti-harassment. Darkship means actively participating in the dark and toxic ships. Like stalker x victim. And comship just means shipping anything with a complicated dynamic. Yeah. Your precious enemies to lovers? That is a comship.

Now to my biggest point.

FICTION IS JUST THAT! FICTION!

Just because someone likes something in a fictional context doesn't mean they like it or condone it in real life. Most people who are proship are profiction. If any paraphilias are involved, it's strictly anti-contact.

It doesn't impact their morals in real life. It doesn't impact YOU who can choose not to read or look at those kinda of things. People who aren't smart enough to understand the difference between fiction and reality are at fault if they are impacted by what they see on the internet.

Saying that people who are pro/dark/com ship are pedophiles is just throwing around a harmful label when IT'S ALL JUST FICTION! WORDS AND PIXILS.

You are not being forced to consume that kind of content. You are not being forced to like it. You can disagree and leave it at that. Both sides are happy. It isn't a big deal.

If people can't have this kind of media, then I guess murder and violence has to be banned too. If consuming dark content makes someone a pedo, then murder and violence will make someone into another Jeffery Dahmer. /sar

Shipping Hot Take:

You shouldn't be allowed to ship unless you have media literacy and are ready to accept what is and isn't canon, even if you don't like it.

I'm not saying you can't ship things that are out of character, toxic, dark, non-canon, whatever. In the end, it's all fiction. I'm just saying you better have some gods damned media literacy before pulling any of that shit.

Ex: Char. A and Char. B absolutely hate each other, despise one another because of deep backstory and lore stuff and constantly want to kill one another. You can ship A and B, but you HAVE to accept that they aren't your sweet UWU enemies to lovers.

Accept that they hate each other even if you write all the fics in the world. Accept they're complicated characters. Accept that you're shipping something out of character. Accept that your ship is not the only ship. Accept that they also exist as fully fleshed out characters beyond your want for a ship.

I fucking hate it when people ship something and think it's the end all be all or that it HAS to be canon. Attacking people for simply holding a different opinion.

Ship what you want, but don't go shoving your opinion down people's throats like it's gospel. Your OPINION and what YOU like is not FACT. Accept that not everyone is like you and move on. Your OTP is not an excuse for harassment.

TLDR: Media literacy is important. Understanding characters and story in canon is important. Accept that what you're shipping usually isn't canon/likely won't BE canon. Shipping is not the end all be all, nor is it all a fandom is.
