I feel like it’s Agenphobic to just use non binary when you’re referring to the entire nonbinary spectrum, not to mention some agender individuals don’t identify with non binary because they view it as still being a gender. Like I’m tired of seeing post after post of mentioning all the gender identities and just seeing nonbinary and not agender.

btw if u misgender a transgender or non-binary person the second they do something wrong or say something wrong, no matter how bad it is, you’re just as bad as a transphobe. You’re literally saying if they don’t align with what’s morally right then they don’t deserve to be gendered correctly. the end goal of acceptance should be active and consistent cultural belongin’. simply sayin’ you don’t understand but you respect it ain’t gon cut it, at least not if you want a society filled with people that actually engage, connect and talk to each other. i don’t care for people to know exactly what bein’ me is like, but bein’ left incomprehensible as a compromise for respect is exactly what keep these systems of supremacy and discrimination intact. me as an aroace lesbian explainin’ how that’s even possible, what tertiary attractions are, and what queerplatonic relationships is to, granted, open minded people over and over and over again is not a good thing. it make havin’ conversations harder and make havin’ deep connections with others even harder. i don’t care to push blame, but remember why education for comprehension is important. push for education on certain identities and for it to be widespread! more zines, more websites, more books, slideshows, more of it! ease of communication can make a person’ personal life 100x better.

Pronounless/genderless bathrooms are not transphobic, the idea of pronounless/genderless bathrooms is that everyone can use them no matter their gender identity, I can understand how this could come across as transphobic but it’s quite similar to de-gendering clothes, everyone can wear whatever they want no matter what gender they are. I can’t think off any other examples so if any of you have suggestions let me know! on the topic of pronouns, I can’t deny that SOME (heavy some) agender people believe this. And it’s a problem that needs to be addressed!

But anyway, I may be narrow minded and not seeing it from their perspective, so if I’m not understanding something let me know!

Folks, if you don't know who Emi Koyama was, you should. Her website (eminism.org, which is a delightful pun) has a ton of her work entirely for free.

You can read the Transfeminist Manifesto in particular here. Emi considered it a historical document and she wrote a very good self-critique in 2008 (included in the document) on the subject of the Manifesto, white feminism, and the lack of inclusion of trans and genderqueer people who aren't trans women. I highly encourage everyone who wants to involve themselves in transfeminism to read her work, not because it is perfect, but because I do think Emi Koyama's Manifesto represents the best intentions for transfeminism: the desire to challenge cissexism, to take activism seriously and compassionately, and a commitment to being open and honest about where we fall short and how we can do better.

I really appreciate this quote from her, which I hadn't seen before, on the subject of feminism needing to "fit in" trans people:

Cis feminists do not own feminism. We don't need to "fit trans people into feminist theory"; we simply need to challenge cissexism in feminist movements and theories. Trans people do not need to be explained by feminist theory; we need to start from the fact that trans people exist and matter.

And it would be a crime to not mention how hard she fought specifically for women of color, to challenge racism and imperialism (white/western and non-white/non-western) in feminist spaces and in general, as well as her intersex activism, and far more. She had such a drive to contribute to, engage with, and push for more and better feminist discourse.

You will be remembered fondly, Emi Koyama. Thank you for all your work and for all your life.

in may the question paper for NEET leaked. that's the national medical entrance exam. over 2.2 million students took it. cancelled. years of studying, families' savings poured into coaching, gone overnight because someone sold the paper. students died by suicide after. these were kids who wanted to be doctors.

and out of that came a protest movement. a gen z group called the cockroach janta party, started by a 30 year old named abhijeet dipke, got 22 million instagram followers within DAYS. they've been doing a sit-in at jantar mantar in delhi demanding education minister dharmendra pradhan resign.

and then there's sonam wangchuk. if you've watched 3 idiots, he's the real engineer the character was based on. built solar schools in ladakh. invented ice stupas so himalayan villages have water. spent his whole life on education. he's 59 and he's been on hunger strike for 17+ days now. reporters went to see him this week and he was too weak to talk. and the troll armies are calling him "anti national" and "foreign funded". a man starving himself for other people's children. that's the thing here, anyone who asks a question is suddenly a traitor.

it's not one incident, it's everywhere you look:

• infrastructure worth thousands of crores failing within months of the ribbon cutting. tunnels collapsing in regions where heavy rain is a guarantee, not a surprise.

• youth unemployment near 10% for ages 15 to 29, 13.6% in cities. in a country of 1.42 billion where more than half the population is young.

• only about the top 3% of indians earn above 10 lakh a year. meanwhile billionaire wealth keeps ballooning and the headlines celebrate it.

• manipur burned for over two years. an ethnic conflict, tens of thousands displaced, and the prime minister barely said the word manipur while it happened.

if you're not indian: share this. our media mostly won't cover any of it because the big outlets are owned by the same billionaires the government serves. the only reason wangchuk's fast is getting any coverage is people refusing to look away.

I feel like people often talk about how transmisandry/transandrophobia affects transgender men and while this is by no means bad I feel like as a transmasc intersex enby I should definitely speak my mind on how I feel like people forget the nonbinary and especially intersex perspective on these kinds of things

For context + important info before I continue:

I am not medically transitioning as i am a minor and it’s illegal for minors under the age of 18 to medically transition or take cross-sex hormones in the current US state I live in. However I do naturally have naturally male and androgynous features such as a mid range voice, a smaller sized easy-to-bind chest, and am a little taller and have broad shoulders and have body hair. I also present myself masculinely. I also identify as a transmasc enby and as a demiaroace pan (-rose) and as a butch bear cub and consider my attraction to both genders to be queer. I use hy/hym/hys (pronounced like “high/hem/hes”) primarily but also use they/them. I have been out for a while now and grew up openly transgender and nonbinary, I also am perceived as masculine socially. I have a lot of experience socially with discrimination for being transmasculine still regardless of being seen as masculine.

Anyways, to the actual meat of the post:

I am know with transmasculine men they get malgendered by transandrophobes as a way to tear them down, erase/silence them from conversations , or reinforce gender roles and that is undeniably awful and I am not trying play oppression olympics about it but not only are transmasc enbies malgendered we are also maliciously misgendered as binary men by a lot of the same people who perpetuate transmisandry against binary trans men. We have our masculinity reduced to “evil man” instead of being seen as nonbinary and unique to our own whenever people want to weaponize our masculinity against us. Ive had plenty of arguments with people where they used he/him/his or with terms related to being a man despite me not liking it and knowing such with the intention of demonizing me as a some kind of threat or like I’m just this “horrible misogynistic MAN” because i want to be included in reproductive healthcare and rights conversations without having to give up my masculinity despite having a uterus, or some other bullshit and I feel like when you look at it from the perspective of “transmisandrists misgender and malgender transmasc enbies who look masc” is when you realize that every who says transandrophobic bullshit hurt the entire transgender community as a whole and don’t only hurt transgender men, they hurt transmasculine enbies by purposely and blatantly misgendering us as binary men because to them it’s justified if I “get to fuck with pooners” because none of what their saying is with good faith or honest intentions and they don’t care about trans women or cis women all:
