Who Runs This Blog?

Just me, Tilly. I am agender transfemmasc and go by she/he/they/it.

What is Anti Transfeminity?

Anti transfeminitiy* is the disallowance and gatekeeping barring trans women and femmes from womanhood and/or femininity. This includes but is not limited to bigotry, malgendering, transmisogyny, and the push to conform to the white pericis standard of Woman.

*This term may have already existed before I decided to use it. If it has a pre existing meaning separate to mine, all I can say is oops.

Made as an alternate term to transgynephobia, as the coiner of that term is not a person I want to associate with.

What if I'm Not a Trans Woman or Femme?

I do welcome all gender identities here to share experiences from their peers and/or friends, but ask them first. I know there's no way to confirm if I have their consent but it makes things easier on my mind.

You can also report instances seen in media, in day to day interactions, or online discussions!

I care about other trans folks because I am a transfeminist. And if you call yourself a transfeminist, you should care about other trans folks too. Some of you are going around finding new ways to be transphobic and misogynistic, and calling it feminism.

so i am trying to make my language around periods more inclusive, but theres one bit im stuck on. i am trying to make a post about periods, specifically those who bleed on their period. i know many (peri)trans women and (peri)trans fems on estrogen can/do experience periods, but my post is specifically about period products like pads and tampons, like stuff to soak up/deal with blood.

basically, i am trying to find a simple way to say "people who have bleeding periods" without excluding trans women from periods, as just saying periods doesnt convey that im talking specifically about those who bleed. i just don't know what other word(s) to use besides period.

any help is appreciated!!

This is a good question! I personally have not put much thought into it, as I've always assumed when people talk about period products they mean products to deal with the actual shedding and not the cramping (as well as the other symtoms).

The actual bleeding part requires a place for blood to accumulate and exit, oftentimes a functioning uterus and vagina, and peri trans women know that it's not something they have the compatibilities for. Many I have met in my day to day life who have periods don't feel unrepresented because people with a traditional period use "period" broadly to mean menstrual shedding.

If you are worried, I'd say use something like "menstrual shedding". But all in all, I don't think anyone would feel excluded if you say period and talk only about the bleeding part.

Alright so I don't know what you mean by "killed off" but if you mean being terminated or deactivated by tumblr, yeah the staff has a huge transmisogyny and rascism issue.

And for shinigami eyes, it is run by radfems. Being marked green says nothing about your trans friendliness and being marked red says nothing about your transphobia. I've seen people misgender and suicide bait trans men and they're marked green, and people who talk about intersex and enban rights/or are anti tma/tme are red.

It's really unfortunate to hear that. But you aren't being a transmisogynist for not sticking up for yourself and for having friends who are transmasc. That's an absurd leap to make.

This happened a while ago, but my old friend group once called me out of my "behavior," which included I "make being a trans woman my entire identity." (That's not even remotely true btw) They would also get mad at me if I corrected someone on my pronouns.

Sounds like a bunch of preformative allies to me. Doesn't matter even if you did make being a transgender woman your whole identity, that's allowed! You're also allowed to correct someone for misgendering you! Geez, that's awful you jad a friend group like that.

Also keep getting called a pick me and a bitch for the same thing. A lot of the time it'll just be unprompted aswell. It feels like theyre exclusively using misogynistic and transphobic language.

Is it normal for other transfems to be anti-transfeminity? Dunno why its me who keeps getting this shit. Thought this community was supposed to be welcoming :(

I wouldn’t say it's normal for other transfems to commit act of anti transfeminitiy but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

The vast majority of the community is welcoming and would not condone that treatment of you. There's a few bad apples, as there is in most communities, but we aren't all like that.
