check up on your conservative-raised friends this pride month because as a kid I heard 'tr*nnies' and thought it was a cute word for trans people. Like a 'ito' or 'ity' that makes the word cuter. I didn't realize it until someone genuinely got really pissed at me

when i was a kid i would intentionally mispronounce 'lesbian' as 'lesbinum' because i thought it was a rude word and didnt wanna get in trouble. we are opposite ships on a great lake of misunderstandings.

ok but have you guys considered that transphobia actually affects everyone? Like, people keep mistaking that real woman for a transwoman, isn't that disgusting? Like, we really need to unite to stop that from happening, it's awful how cis women have to deal with being thought of as trannies by people online. This is the real proof that we all suffer equally in the eyes of the state. I think transwomen really need to consider how hard it is to for cis people to be thought of as one of them and to be bullied for it, otherwise they're just dividing us further!! #TransUnity!!!!

I love clocky trans people, I love "never let them know your next move" nonbinary and genderfluid folks, I love agender people who don't look the way cisheteronormativity expects "agender" to look like, I love you trans women and transfems with deep voices, I love you trans men and transmascs with the "tranny voice", I love you non-passing or "never wanted to pass", I love you nonbinary people who are not thin, pale, flat-chested and hairless, I love you androgynous and not-that, I love you dykes with the moustache, I love you balding transfems, I love you "non-transitioning" or "detrans but still trans" people, I love you closeted folks, I love you fat trans people, I love you disabled trans people, I love you trans people of color, I love all of us and I love that we are all in this bitch of a life and this hellpit of a world together.

this may be controversial, and I wanna say this isnt me saying that I know people's gender better than they do, this is me observing that "still cis tho" is used facetiously by people who are trans.

I've seen posts like "i just got prescribed hrt! please call me [name] and she/her! still cis tho", and I feel like it wouldn't be out of the question to see a post along the lines of "been on hormones for 20 years, post op, been to 10 different pride parades, still cis tho".

and while I acknowledge that hormones and surgery and participation in pride don't make you trans, I again am acknowledging that "still cis tho" is facetious.

why does this bug me? "just let people tell funny jokes it's funny!", it's the inferrance that it's fine to do all these things, just as long as you're not trans. anything but calling yourself trans. anything but straight up being a tranny. even if you've gotten SRS and have been on hormones forever, so long as you're "male living as a female"/"female living as a male" as huge piece of shit Buck Angel puts it.

it's ok to be trans. it's ok to admit that you're trans. and it's ok to admit to yourself that you are. you're allowed to be trans and come out of the closet. i promise it's ok.

basically this post is just me wishing people could be more comfortable coming out and also wishing people didn't like, make fun of themselves by laughing and joking that they're still cis.

maybe I'm just stupid and wrong forever actually maybe I'm reading too deep into it and I should just let people tell jokes.
