HELLO!! INTRO POST TIME!!
Hi!! Welcome to @this-is-endophobia! This blog was made to take back the original meaning of endophobia which has slowly been replaced by pro non-traumagenics! This blog focuses on sharing people's experiences with endophobia, and I hope that this blog can help spread awareness of this very real issue! Endophobia is not a joke, and it should not be overlooked!
"What is actual endophobia?"
Endophobia is the aversion/disdain of ones own ethnic group, nationality, phenotypical characteristics, and sociocultural aspects of one's own region(s) of origin. It is the inverse of xenophobia, which is the aversion/disdain of foreigners. Endophobia can also be linked to oikaphobia, the tendency to reject or criticize own's own home while praising others'.
For example, Colombia has a history involving colorism. Many Natives (like myself) and Afro-Colombians are discriminated against due to our darker or lighter shades of skin. We are persecuted by fellow Colombians, which is endophobia!
Endophobia is deeply rooted in classism, racism, colonization, and outgroup favoritism.
"Are there any other ways for someone to be endophobic?"
Yes! There's a lot of ways people end up being endophobic!
Disdain for one's way of speech or accent
Disdain for one's language
Disdain for one's lifestyle
Disdain for one's clothing
Disdain for one's cuisine
Disdain for one's skin tone
Disdain for one's religion (i.e., a majority Christian country showing hatred towards their own Natives for having different practices)
Disdain for one's physical appearance
DNI LIST!! FOLLOW OR YOU WILL BE BLOCKED
RCTA Radqueers (RQ transrace). You are endophobic! Radqueers are not welcome!
Apart from that, there is actually no set DNI list for this blog, but I will block freely for my own comfort! That being said:
Please do not bring discourse into this. Despite me being anti-endo, if you are a pro-endo wanting to learn what actual endophobia looks like, I will not stop you from educating yourself (and hopefully you can find this as a reason to use alternative terms instead)! Just please, do not bring discourse into this. This is a space where people that have experienced actual endophobia can talk about their experiences and what they've had to put up with, all without feeling like they are being overshadowed or joked about.
