Jim and Pam’s first kiss
This is truly a historic year. We’re either going to elect a woman, a Jew, the Zodiac Killer, or the start of the Fourth Reich.
A few little crops from a bigger painting. Little boats and colourful houses are my favourite things!
Happy #Sweet16 to my beautiful cousin Laura!
Atticus said to Jem one day, “I’d rather you shot at tin cans in the backyard, but I know you’ll go after birds. Shoot all the blue jays you want, if you can hit ‘em, but remember it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.” That was the only time I ever heard Atticus say it was a sin to do something, and I asked Miss Maudie about it. “Your father’s right,” she said. “Mockingbirds don’t do one thing except make music for us to enjoy. They don’t eat up people’s gardens, don’t nest in corn cribs, they don’t do one thing but sing their hearts out for us. That’s why it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.

Love this DC Super Heroes playset for my two toddler boys!
Saruman
In honor of Christopher Lee, the world’s biggest LOTR fan
Saruman goes up to the counter and orders a white chocolate mocha. The barista (who, on an unrelated note, happens to have one eye) offers it to him for free if he can just do him a quick favor. “It’ll take like 75 years, tops,” says the barista.
“Sure,” replies Saruman. “What’s the gig?”
“I need you to find something I lost a while back,” the barista says.
“Sounds super,” says Saruman. “But I’d love to know your name before I start.”
“They call me the Espressromancer,” says the barista.
“That’s a totally normal name,” says Saruman. “In fact, it has a nice ring to it.”
A marvelous illustrated celebration of the many things “home” can mean.
My fearless second-born. Alexander’s kindred spirit and tiny partner in crime, but also his own little man. It’s been over one year since that first day of spring when he entered our lives with his dimples and feisty spirit, and we are just now coming up for air! Alex and Andy have divided all of my energy, love and devotion between them, and with every new day, I feel even more blessed to be on this journey of being a Mommy to Boys.
Alex is less into "storytime" lately and more into things like pretend play and pinning all manner of mischievous deeds on his baby brother, but he still shares his daddy's love of Dr. Seuss. Loved watching him enjoy his first reading of The Lorax (amazed he actually sat still and listened!) Haven't quite brought myself to appreciate all those eerie Seuss illustrations or redundant rhyme schemes from his toddler's perspective but still working on it.
The “spare heir” is a Princess! Beautiful Diana would have been a proud grandma today.
