Watching my bi friends’ identities get erased when they‘re in m/f relationships makes me think it’s even MORE important to write bi characters in m/f relationships and then be REALLY BLATANT about the fact that one or both of them is bi.

Gonna just share this:

My European Studies professor decided a few weeks ago to take a Friday and instead of following the syllabus, he spent the entire hour and a half comparing Hitler’s actions from a European perspective to that of what Trump is doing in America. He never repeated a single point, and even used video and photos like this to show the comparison.

To make things better, he had us do an in class assignment for participation points. He first played a clip on youtube of one of Hilter’s speeches, subtitled and 3 minutes long. He then played a clip of one of Trump’s rallies. Our assignment? Copy down every single sentence that matched in translation down on a sheet of paper or a word document that wasn’t repeated. The person with the closest amount to what my professor found got a candy bar.

My professor found, in just three minutes of a speech, that Trump matched 65 different phrases/sentences to that of Hitler’s translation. 

65 nearly identical phrases used in his speeches. Take a moment to think about that.

Last night in Kenosha, Wisconsin Jacob Blake was shot 7 times in the back, in broad daylight, in front of his children. He was unarmed and attempting to break up a fight between two women. He is in critical condition.

His name is Jacob Blake. He was unarmed, trying to break up a fight. He was tasered and shot 7 times while trying to get into a car. His kids were watching.

This is why we say Black Lives Matter.

This is why we protest.

And yes sometimes riot.

Because people like Jacob are left in critical condition, fighting for his life as his children watched for doing nothing wrong.

We must end this horrific pattern of police brutality that's rooted in 400+ years of systemic racism and oppression in our nation.

We must demand accountability. We must demand change.

We have to continue to show up.

We have to continue to protest.

We must continue to learn.

We must continue to watch, read and listen..

We must continue to amplify voices.

We cannot let this moment slip away like Ferguson and many many others.

We must continue to recognize our privilege and biases.

I understand that I will never understand, but what I can do is stand with you.

If we stand together in communion and acceptance, we can truly change the world.

Now is the time (way past time really). We are the change we have been seeking.

No Justice.
