You have to be selective in who you take advice from. A lot of that "advice" is dressed in shade, hate, & discouragement. The only opinion that matters when it comes to you & your dreams is YOURS. The negative comments of others merely reflect their limitations, not yours.

"You can't fix EVERYTHING!" Famous words by my therapist from yesterdays session. Though I gave this look as if to say "What do you mean I can't fix everything!", deep down I knew there was truth to it. I'm a caregiver at heart & I find joy in helping others & seeing others succeed, even if that means putting my dreams, aspirations, etc. on hold. I always try to have the backs of everyone, including those who wouldn't even do the same for me. I always try to be Captain Save-A-Life, but the harsh reality that I am coming to accept is that that is not my cross to bear, nor is it healthy. I'm discovering that despite my beliefs, I am NOT Super Man & not made of steel. I'm learning that I can still be that hand to hold when situations get tight without trying to fix the issue. I can still be that support system & still give love freely. Often times we feel that the only way to show love is to be a fixer, but sometimes less is more. A listening ear can do more than you realize.
Night. The only time when I'm able to completely filter my thoughts without interruption. I don't sleep. I close my eyes & see music. I hear lyrics. I just pull out my phone & write songs until the sun comes up. My mind is always racing. I think about my past & how I don't want to repeat any of the selfish & dangerous decisions. I think about my present & I wonder if I'm living my best life. I worry about my future because I don't want to be jaded, full of regret, still in the same place going through the same ole shit. Most see me cursing, wilding out, being a goof, but I am working on my prayer life. I pray for clarity, direction, peace...but ultimately, I just want to be receptive to love, positivity & pure hearts. No more blocking blessings. 💙
Sometimes we get so busy trying to save the world/people around us that we forget about the needs of our own temples, minds, souls, & hearts. Just a few reminders I read every morning after praying.
