TIIF057, Bloodsport by worriedaboutsatan, is up for pre-order now.
Bloodsport is the ninth studio album from worriedaboutsatan. Pieced together in a home studio up in Saltaire, Yorkshire, the album marks a departure from the elegiac ambient layers of previous satan albums, as a gnarled, aggressive energy encapsulates the whole record. Full of burnt edges, it is still very much a worriedaboutsatan album, albeit a fairly angry one. “You can’t live and make music in a bubble, and the way things are at the moment made it particularly difficult to give it a happy soundtrack. There’s a bit of light on the album too, it’s not all doom and gloom, don’t worry. I haven’t made a harsh noise album or anything. Yet” Jungle breaks mix with piercing guitar lines, huge pulsating bursts of sub-bass wrap themselves around clattering drums, and more understated dread-notes sit next door to shorter passages of electronic arpeggios. It’s a bit of a mess, but a grand one. The album is being released on 25th March via This Is It Forever, and will come with a remix counterpart later in the year.
Happy release day TIIF054!
To celebrate a whopping 10 years in the game, TIIF 10 is a compilation of some of the highlights from the label since it started back in summer 2011.
It features a lot of the back catalogue, some obscure moments, some of those exclusives which were buried on the end-of-year TIIF collections, as well as some of the bigger names and surefire hits.
It’s only £5, and only on digital via the TIIF Bandcamp.
It’s also streaming on Spotify here.
Happy release day, Charlie Coxedge! Big Top, his second album and first for TIIF, is out now on cassette and digital.

Introducing TIIF053: Charlie Coxedge - Big Top
Big Top is the second album from Manchester based guitarist Charlie Coxedge. Charlie, who spent his formative years in the band MONEY, who toured and released to massive critical acclaim, and previously releasing his debut album 'Cloisters' on Bella Union, now finds himself in a more intimate, reflective frame of mind. Slowly building tracks up by looping and layering lines of twangy, atmospheric guitar, Charlie has a beautifully melancholic sound, surrounded by warm, fraying edges of ambient tones and piercing intertwining guitar lines, unravelled effortlessly.

TIIF052, available for pre-order now!
Introducing TIIF052: Marta Mist - ‘Years (Singles Collected 2010-2012)’
After last year’s Falconetti reissue, TIIF once again delves into the world of sadly forgotten Yorkshire alternative music to bring you ‘Years’, a retrospective of Marta Mist’s brief recorded output from 2010-2012.
The band, a shadowy anonymous collective based in Leeds, made subtle waves in the ambient, modern-classical and drone world with their releases on Hibernate, Heat Death, and US label Time Released Sound. As well as those, however, they also released a slew of self-released tapes, USB sticks and handmade CDs over the years too, which this new record collects and presents again for the listening public.
6 tracks, taken from three singles make up the album, which is due out on Feb 12th, in digital and cassette format.
A further delve into their back catalogue is also coming later in the year.
Out now! TIIF051, An Tiaract / Who Is To Say.
Introducing TIIF051: worriedaboutsatan & Charlie Coxedge - ‘An Tiaracht / Who Is To Say’
The first release of the new year is the latest instalment of the TIIF split tape series. This time, it sees myself as worriedaboutsatan on side A, and Manchester based guitarist Charlie Coxedge on side B.
Charlie’s a new face to the TIIF roster, but this won’t be the last you hear of him on the label... his side of the tape is a gorgeous, expansive looped guitar piece, which ebbs and flows over the course of 11 minutes, weaving through melancholic tones and beautiful hushed ambience.
The satan side is an almost-beatless exercise in searing synthesiser melancholy - endless layers of the stuff, all cascading into each other before flittering down to almost nothing. It was fun to make something based around these thick slabs of synth - they can be a pain to get under control as they take off without much effort, so had to tame it a little to make it sing.
Anyway, the tape will be out on Jan 22nd, with the pre-order landing a week before, on the 15th. As always, physicals are available via Bandcamp, and digital will be everywhere on release day.
Happy Bandcamp Friday, everyone!
To celebrate, why not pick up the annual end-of-year compilation from the label, featuring a track from each release TIIF put out over the past 12 months, and some exclusives from worriedaboutsatan & Ghosting Season too!
Happy release day, Falconetti!
Introducing TIIF050: Falconetti - ‘A History Of Skyscrapers’
For the label’s 50th release, I’m super excited, and honoured to be able to bring you a re-issue of Falconetti’s three EPs.
Falconetti have never been ones to relish the limelight. At the start of the new millennium, in typical Yorkshire fashion, they just quietly went about their business, slowly winning over anyone who ever saw them unfurl their euphoric brick walls of noise in dank basements or quiet bars on the fringes of the county.
Influences that ranged from the slow motion heavy metal of Godflesh/ Jesu, Mogwai and Mono, matched with the deep groove of bands like Portishead and later period Massive Attack, their sound was a widescreen cinematic take on the heavier side of instrumental post rock.
A History of Skyscrapers collects together their brief recorded output, which was slowly released by the band themselves across the period 2003 to 2008. And though they never did get around to making a full length album, this collection tries to replicate what that would sound like.
Core members Nick Tonge, Mark Midgley and Matt Fortune re-convened slowly after years apart to help put this compilation together, and over a period of five years, the record is finally ready.
The CD will be released on highly limited edition round tin, and also on digital formats on October 9th.
