Threshold

Threshold is a continuous split-level installation that we designed and built at The Queen of Hoxton for May bank holiday weekend. It was installed on the ceiling of the stairway between the ground floor and basement, acting as an invitation to go down and see the second half of the work behind the DJ booth in the basement. The whole piece was built from a set of eco-friendly polystyrene strips, 25mm x 25mm and 50mm x 50mm, of varying lengths. The set will now reside at The Queen of Hoxton on a semi-permanent basis, where we will continue to explore the possibilities of video-mapping, and reappropriate the installation in various guises, across the venue.

DRUMM

We are currently working closely with the good people behind DRUMM at the Queen of Hoxton. This regular Thursday night party showcases a plethora of new live and dj talent alongside printed matter from up-and-coming photographers and illustrators. Our role in this soon to be institution is as curators of all things light installation and projection related. You may even catch us playing a few jams in between the bands. Stay tuned for updates of our exciting work on this project or, in the meantime, check out this short video we produced at the preview party:

Fort Romeau - Say Something

Hey hey hey, should really get back to posting tunes and other relevant stuff on here! However, for a start, here's a recent mix done by 2/3 of Lcd: Muscle Planet. Recorded on two decks and a mixer, with the help of a large stack of a vinyl! Looking to play more sets out these days so do get in touch!

Roman Flügel - Deo

One of the highlights of the man's long-awaited solo album, which has found itself ranked rather highly in RA's end of year album charts, and deservedly so. I personally find it hard to believe that anyone could listen to this tune and not dance maniacally around the room. Beneath this sensation, however, lies some truly incredible craftsmanship - an absolutely masterclass in the handling of sound and rhythm.

Starting off deep slow and dubby, this sampler from Jazzanova's forthcoming remix compilation progresses to something far more soulful, with jazz tinges and strings fully attached. One would be hard pushed to improve on the stripped back vocal sounds of the original MCDE remix, but with the addition of some classic house chords and disco flavour, Morid and Hifi3000 have taken the track straight to the dance floor.
