I read this article (that I had open in my tabs for months) about a painting process that used occlusion shadows and wanted to try it.

Worked pretty well, though I accidentally added many unnecessary steps. After I got the regular shadows down, I got tired/impatient and just merged everything and painted on top like I normally do.
