i think that the vampire and the werewolf are so permanently entwined w each others lore and mythos and themes because in many of the ways that matter the vampire hunter is also in some way the werewolf. a natural predator. an inheritor of a lineage of creatures evolved to destroy you. in this way every version of the vampire is in some way uniquily inextricable from the werewolf
