five times richie tozier wanted to kiss eddie kaspbrak at midnight on new year's. and the one time he did.
New Year's Eve 1989, 1991, 1993, 1994, 2002, and 2004. The Loser's Club had a tradition to party the hardest they absolutely could every New Year's Eve in high school. Richie's tradition of desperately building up the nerve to kiss Eddie when the clock struck twelve, only to fall flat, started years before. Even meeting as strangers at a bar, not knowing they'd been missing each other for eight years, Richie found himself clamming up the closer the clock got to midnight, as if every nerve in his body had been coded to desperately want Eddie in the last ten seconds of the year.
Classic 5+1 trope inject it in my veins.

August 31st, 2006 After two years of playing scattered band gigs with Bev, Mike, Bill, Stan, and Ben, Richie Tozier and Eddie Kaspbrak had somehow never met each other. They never showed up for the same performance, never met at a party, never played their bass and electric guitar together.
For two years, Richie had been nothing but a cautionary tale for Eddie. For two years, Richie couldn't wait to finally cross paths with him. For two years, they'd been living in the back of each other's minds. And finally, after two years, they met. And though he never said it out loud, Eddie was almost positive they had somehow met before, maybe even in another life. All he knew was cigarettes never tasted sweeter, the nights never felt so young, and for once he almost felt sure.
I guess you could call this an early 2000's shitty rock cover band Losers AU <3

Sorry it took so long- life got sad so i wrote a depressing ass new years 5 + 1 one shot; so go read that after you read this chapter if you haven't already.
Maybe one day i'll be able to write a chapter thats less than 10k words.

an angsty one shot about the five times Richie Tozier wanted to kiss Eddie Kaspbrak on New Years Eve and the one time he actually did.
it's very long for a one shot but i think thats okay. it was supposed to be out by new years eve but turns out it takes longer than three days to write 25k words especially when they are mostly sad. this was literally only written because the song "I Remember You" by Rilo Kiley played and I thought it would make such a good one shot. THEN I heard the song "Sometime Around Midnight" by The Airborne Toxic Event and thought it would be such a sad new years eve one shot, so listen to those songs please.
This is very sad but we will be back to writing/posting fun shenanigans in Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous soon!
