I really believe the “Armends” pun was Lestat editorializing. Not because Armand would never say that, but it’s just such a Lestat joke. I really think that he thought of it after Armand apologized and was kicking himself just waiting for another opportunity to use it, so he worked it into his retelling of Louis’ account of that evening when he was recording the Failures.

i will never understand people who say there is a lack of "queer scenes" in the vampire lestat. The entire plot is about a man who is trying to figure out if his husband still loves him, and trying to fix his fucked up relationship with his mom which is deeply rooted in the desired subversion of gender roles by both of them. He became who he was because he was raped by a man. his first love was another man. There is another man in love with an old man and they are being evil gays because they feel like jilted exes to the first two men. Their daughter misses her wife and hates them because of it.

There is no straight plot. it is all queer scenes.

I do know what you mean, though. You wanted more gay sex in the season where everyone is broken up and reliving their sexual abuse. Queer eroticism and yearning was not enough for you.
