There’s so much stuff going on in town just lately it’s kinda crazy
That was for damn sure. Cece knew this was just the beginning too. The things she had learned about this town, it seemed pretty obvious now that this town hid more supernatural secrets than Cece had expected. Still, she had met some decent people in town. She didn’t like the idea of making any deep friendships, made it too hard to leave if the coven ever found her. Cece had been looking to settle down, but she couldn’t afford to bury her roots very deep.
“Well the lobsters can’t seem to get enough of me.” Cece stated matter-of-factly. She took a long drink from her glass, She had run into the lobsters more times than she could count, but had only almost died to them on three separate occasions. Only two of the three were times that she willingly went to the beach to find them. “Whatever they’re planning, they’re definitely trying to include me. They’re kind of obsessed with me, honestly. It’s pretty clawsome” Cece spoke casually, but smiled at her own joke. She had actually made a lot of efforts to make sure that the karkinoids didn’t come any closer to her house, but for the sake of the joke she thought she could make an exception.
“Oh another newbie in town?” Seemed to be a lot of those in town, Cece included. “I moved here a couple of months ago now.” She understood the feeling of being lonely, eager to talk to someone. Cece needed human interaction and drove herself crazy if she spent too long without it. “Cece. You just made yourself a new friend.” Cece held her glass out to Hope, “Cheers to new friends.”
The voices behind the two only got louder and Cece risked a glance behind her to catch the conversation getting more and more heated. She shrugged, ignoring them and looking back at Hope. It was only a matter of time before the three got kicked out, or got into a full on brawling match followed by them getting kicked out of the bar. Either way, Cece expected the place to go back to its normal level of chatter and peace in about fifteen to twenty minutes. No more reason to get involved.
“Did they tell you anything of their evil schemes while they were trying to recruit you? Are you in too deep with them now?” The pun had Hope laughing. She was definitely a fan of little jokes like that, even if she could never pull them off in person like this woman was.
Her expression brightened even further when Cece introduces herself in return. She eagerly bumps her glass with the other blondes and takes a quick sip for good luck. can’t be too careful with luck around here, she didn’t want to be on the wrong side of it. “To new friends.” She echoes cheerfully before feeling the spike of emotion behind Cece. The noise had caught the others attention but Hope could feel the hostility rise in both parties at an alarming rate.
Too distracted to notice Cece turn back around, Hope watched the first punch. The spike of shock and disbelief wasn’t dulled at all to her, alcohol turned down her tolerance for other peoples emotions an awful lot no matter the quantitiy she consumed. She watched as a fight broke out and unfortunaely for her one of the men was drunk enough to have an issue with anyone passing. And anyone passing seemed to be Hope in that moment.
“Who you staring at bitch?” and he lunged for her.
