I have power again up here where I am, cell service is somewhat iffy, but my ISP is still hit and miss at home. They're supposedly resolving it for us in the complex by tomorrow evening.

Hardly, and while there are myriad reasons why, the first and foremost would be that they don't meet the necessary criteria. 

Furthermore, multiple personality disorder isn't the sort of thing where, by the luck of the draw, so many people get the cool, edgy, cute, cuddly, awesome, shiny thing that they just so happen to like or other people find cool... Moreover MPD doesn't manifest itself in identification as animals. They ain't special, these bitches, they're just taking pretend-play and RP to a degree that defies dissociation and goes into delusion - willfully so, because Fatty McButterfuck isn't interesting, but Mary Sue Wolf-Butt totally is the bestest thing ever! These are just twats deluding themselves and indulging in a trend out of a desperate, narcissistic desire for validation. I refuse to validate them by linking their willful glorification of mental illness with actual mental illness.

I can comprehend the logic of furries more easily than I can Otherkin - at least there are ties to paraphilic disorders in those people, and they tend to be altogether quite harmless (albeit fucking annoying.)

But Otherkin… I swear to fuck… There’s no logic, they don’t meet the criteria for any specific diagnosis in regards to their delusions of being animals, namely because the lot of them are simply morons caught up in a desperate wave of hysteria to be something more special than the losers that they really are.
