FINN

Kissing wasn’t a new thing to Finn. Since his 12th birthday he had been making out with girls and over this last summer had experienced making out with boys. It was a thing that was alright and mostly always lead to sex these days. Kissing Marley was nothing like that. She made her head swim in a way he had never experienced. Her lips were so soft and for the first time, Finn wanted the kissing to just keep happening.

As she pulled back, a little groan escaped from Finn’s throat. He could have kept kissing her until he literally suffocated. That was a tad dramatic but that’s how wrapped up he was in her and everything they were doing. Watching the way she took a drink, the smile on Finn’s lips grew. Dropping his hand from her waist, Finn entwined their fingers with a little grin. “I think your room sounds awesome.” With that little lopsided grin, Finn leaned down, stealing another quick kiss before pulling back, nodding as he started to stepped backwards, tugging Marley along with him. “Might help with any left over nerves too.”

MARLEY

On the outside -- she was trying to appear as experienced as she was expected to be. On the inside, her mind was swimming with preoccupations of how her hands were placed, the muscles in her face, the movement in response to his touch, and her performance at pretending that none of these things were bothering her. Half of her was becoming lost in being with Finn, the other half of her was becoming lost in her attempt to be confident.

A small, nervous nod as Marley followed in his lead. Before he could see the nerves on her face, she leaned in to kiss him again, using it to lead him toward the hallway and toward her room. Her hand kept in his, squeezing in the hopes to hide the stiffness the adrenaline was giving her. Once they reached her door, she pulled back for a moment just to open the door, pushing it open and tugging him inside. “Try not to be too impressed.” Marley said, nervous smile facing the floor in the attempt to hide her now flushed cheeks.

“Hey!” Marley was quick to find a familiar face in the crowd, surrounded by McKinley students that she hadn’t bothered to try to know. It seemed that everybody was only surrounded by the same faces they had known since childhood, she might as well had been a plant in a corner to most of them. Despite the enemies she may had already made, any burning of time was welcomed as the next batch of juice was being made.

“Don’t take this the right or wrong way -- but you look good.”

“Watch it!” Marley said, hand cupping over the top of her cup as she navigated throughout the crowd. Even at the new school, she was still invisible to most everyone around her. As insecure as she was in the moment, her annoyance at the unaware elbows getting in her way with each step was adding more and more cause for her to snap at the next person that tried her. There were already too many people that didn’t care about her, she didn’t feel the need to care about them.

A knock from a person caused a splash from her drink to end up on the shoulder of the person opposite her, a twinge of flared anger sprung as she lost nearly a quarter of what she had. “Puckerman,” She quickly came to her own defence, “Not my fault, blame -- uh” Looking behind her, the clutz had already bailed and left her alone. Shit. “Oh, well. But hey, I bet this isn’t the first time a stranger has made you a little bit sticky.”

You do understand what the word uniform means, don’t you? Besides, if we’re going by that logic of uniformity the skanks don’t have much differences in appearance amongst themselves either. 

As much as I hate to be the one to say you’re wrong - you are wrong. I have no interest in the jocks. What the others do with them is really none of my concern. 

Yes, I do, but they can at least throw a little variety in there to make their uniforms a little more distinct. At least we wear different shirts, different pants, different hair styles. The fact that we might wear the same thing is by accident, not design.

Doesn’t mean you don’t benefit by association. I completely believe that a jock would jump to block you from a slushie than they would me, even if you don’t think they would.

That is absolutely scandalous. While I appreciate the kindness you offer, as insane as it is, I will continue to avoid coke, bare asses and such scandals and keep up with my books instead. Corruption gives me hives just thinking about it.

It is, and it’s not like sons of men in power are any strangers to scandal. 

The offer is there whenever you want to take it. Just know that breaking out of your shell is never a bad thing, it’s just opening yourself up to new experiences.

I’m sure it will get old sooner than later, especially once one of the school’s elites end up involved in some kind of scandal. Then the school will have something new to talk about and you won’t have to listen to it anymore. It’s been a thing as long as I’ve been here. The stickiness isn’t even the worst part, it’s the moment when the ice hits you. It’s so cold it stings like crazy. That and the embarrassment. Uh, I haven’t kept track but usually it’s a 5, maybe 6 times a year depending? Some people are targeted more than others, I guess sometimes it gets personal.

Maybe I’ll just kidnap someone from the school district over and make them the new new girl. Or make something up for them to obsess over, like one of the cheerios having a third nipple. Y’know, speed up the process a bit. I can think of a million more guys at this school that deserve a cherry flavored cold shower over you guys, and most of them are the ones that throw them in the first place. What would you call that, displacement or projection? Jeez, you know I can keep some clothes in my locker if you need to quick change? Not the, y’know, more outrageous pieces of my clothes, but I have some TShirts and stuff.

TAGGING: Madison McCarthy & Marley Rose

DATE & TIME: Sunday night, early Monday morning

SYNOPSIS: Madison saves Marley from a stressful night so the two can have some alone time together before school starts.

MADISON

Lima Heights was often where Madison found herself if she wasn’t with her fellow skanks or forced at school. It had people who seemed to be more her pace, and the bars didn’t give a shit about IDs. So she could often hit up one of the dive bars that the motorcycle heads hung out at, get a few shots in and maybe even a quickie in a bathroom stall before heading somewhere else for the night. That had been her plan today, and she had been flirting with this guy for the past twenty minutes, trying to get a drink out of him, when she got the text from Marley.

Disregarding the older man or the beer that was slid her way, she bid him a lackluster farewell and quickly got in her car and drove towards Marley’s house. Madison knew her best friend would do the same for her, so she didn’t waste any time getting there as soon as possible.

Coming upon Marley’s house, Madison saw the brunette on the sidewalk, and pulled her car up next to her. “What happened in there?” She questioned, turning her music down once Marley got in the car. Madison could guess what happened between Marley, Joel and her mother, but she wanted to make sure her best friend was okay, and if she needed to vent, then so be it.

MARLEY

She was able to see the headlights from down the block, scooping up her bag from the sidewalk from the moment she knew it was her. Getting into Madison’s car was muscle memory by now, and she quickly jumped into the passenger seat without as much as a second thought. She heard the question before it processed, her ears still ringing from the last forty-five minutes of yelliing, instead opting to fussing with her bag down at her ankles for a moment. 

Taking a deep breath and leaning back, it finally clicked. “Normal Joel stuff. They were gone for a weekend, so I guess all the normal stuff got pent up for a few days.” She muttered with a glance over to her friend and a nervous hand running through her hair. “I totally forgot what it was about, I got too preoccupied with how his attempt at a beard makes his face look like total scrotum.”

Looking through her hair, she gave Madison a smirk in the hopes that it would lighten the mood of the night. Nobody knew how often these occurrences were within her family except for Madison, and the last thing she wanted was to drag someone else into any drama. “I’m good with going wherever you want to, I brought a few things to keep us occupied.” With a kick of her bag, the bottle clinked.

As flattered as I am, no. I don’t tend to watch slushing attacks happen. It seems far too immature to me. 

It seems like sixty. I mean, it’s kind of hard to tell with how six or seven of them look a like. Very unnecessary. 

Try not to blind me with your pure sainthood, there. I’m sure you’re totally innocent in it all.

Wow that’s not even creative. On the bright side, they made an effort to somewhat remember your name. That isn’t as common as you would think. I think everyone’s just excited for someone different. You’re like the shiny new toy on the playground –  I mean that in a metaphorical way and not an objectification of you way. Yeah they got one of the D&D guys again. He was wearing his embroidered cloak so it basically just dripped from the cafeteria to the guys bathroom. I thought maybe they would ease off on the first day but apparently not. I’m just glad it wasn’t me. Apart from all the slipping, was it at least somewhat bearable?

I get it. I’d rather be the shiny new toy of people totally ignoring me rather than bugging me with the wrong name every two seconds. It’s like chattering birds in my ear the entire school day, really not a good thing to make me want to keep going five days a week. I still don’t understand why it’s a thing. Like a pointless power move. Pointless, sticky, probably going to bite them in the ass one day. How many have you gotten hit with before?
