Only you could find a way to create homework for yourself on the first day of classes. And honestly I think you’re likely wasting your time. If previous semesters are any indication, half our instructors have difficulty sticking to their own course outlines.

Perhaps I’m the only one in our class who marks due dates with gold star stickers, but I’m sure I’m not the only person you know who looks over her syllabuses after the first day of class, Quinn. There’s a little nerd in all of us. And while our instructors may be lax with our peers, I have found this can be an efficient way to keep them on schedule!

Anyone else spending the evening breaking in their new pens as they pour over this semester’s class syllabuses? I love the start of a new school year!

Oh yeah, totally. I think it’s as you get older or something. What? Gym is long for you? I feel like we don’t have enough time in gym class to even do anything. It sort of stinks. I’d rather have a lot more time doing actual sports than them taking attendance because they’re afraid everyone’s gonna skip. But with winter you can’t practice outside and then the wind feels like it’s slapping you when you walk outside. What are star twinkle lights?

Yes. Well. It seems my face is something of a magnet to balls. Gym period loses it’s appeal when you spend the hour running for flying objects. I suppose the colder weather would make outdoor sports rehearsals more difficult, however, I do believe there are some benefits to staying indoors -- no prolonged exposure to the sun (important for cancer prevention!), access to water fountains (hydration is key!), a significant decrease in the likelihood of an unwanted bug attack... I could go on.

They’re Christmas lights, essentially, but the bulbs are shaped like stars and they twinkle.

Don’t know about everyone else or even if there’s anyone else but I’m kind of excited for school to come back. I don’t know if I can hang out with kids anymore after this week.

I, for one, am right there with you on the ‘Yay School’ train. I enjoy some aspects of summer -- mainly trips with my dads and the little bit of extra wiggle room in my schedule -- but I thrive with the routine our school schedule provides. How are your siblings, Sam?

Wow, sounds like you got to a really personal place there. And listening to you get all personal is stressing me out. I might just have to take a smoke break just to deal. You know what? I’ll do an extra cigarette, just for you.

Yes, I will admit I have been personally attacked by the cloud of smoke which seems to follow the Skanks, however, that does not negate the rest of my argument. It’s not just your developing lungs you’re endangering, Marley!! It’s our planet as well. Remember, it doesn’t need us to survive -- Earth will heal without us -- but our survival as a species definitely depends on it. Just some more stressful thoughts for your smoke breaks.

There’s totally nothing wrong with celebrating now. Better early than late, that’s what I say. I think it’s getting older. I think Puck mentioned something about a theory that makes total sense with time going by faster. Oh you feel me? I love that saying. I feel me too. I feel like summer’s super short and winter is just super long.

Is age one of the factors in his theory? Becuase if so I’d have to agree. It only stands to reason the longer you’ve lived the faster time would seem to pass. Not that it explain the phenominon that is the gym period that never ends. I don’t mind winter. I’ve got a large selection of sweaters and love any excuse to pull out my star twinkle lights.

So, I’m not really one to talk on littering, but whoever left broken beer bottles in the middle of some grass by a sidewalk (enough to totally Saw IV my foot, by the way) to is going to pay for my tetanus shot and get me some new boots. Boots take priority, but I accept apologies or sympathy in the forms of McGillicuddys, Marlboros, or just a general favor from me to you if I like you enough. I probably don’t, but the option is on the table.

I should hope you don’t. Not only is cigarette smoking bad for your lungs it’s also horrible for the environment. So I hope you think of those beer bottles the next time you toss a cigarette butt or ruin somebody’s favorite mustard cardigan when you blow your smoke on an innocent bystander.

Is it me or is summer going by super fast? I feel like if I blink again then it’ll be Christmas time which is so insane to think about. Maybe I should start doing my shopping now though so I don’t leave anything to last minute like I usually do. I blame practice for all my business during the year.

That sentiment is particularly apt if you’re the type to celebrate Christmas in July. Though I do have to agree with you, these last six months do seem to have flown by. Whether it’s a result of getting older or the near constant state of anxiety the current state of the world has me in, I’m unsure, but I certainly ‘feel you’ as they say.
