The story is set in summers on a hot weather and a bad luck of a guy daru. Daru grew up with rich friends and was suppressed by complication,fatigues and practicalities of life.He lost his job,no money  no facilities. Gradually he entered in the life of his best-est friend Ozi. Ozi and his wife enjoyed a rich luxurious life , parties drinks etc. Daru viewed  rich class closely ,imported alcohol,ease of money,pajeros as symbol of power.Twisting story twists even more when daru fell in love with Ozi’s wife mumtaz. They began drinking together smoking and maximum time along .She keeps loving daru like a  moth to candle and risks her marriage,son like insane.

Daru a negative character ,a selfish lazy person gets plunged with drugs and crimes. He destroys his life for nothing. Daru was unable to  see his reckless life and attitude .He was unable to resist his affair with mumtaz like a moth can’t help flying close to the flame.

         Its an incredible book close to the factualities and bitter realities of life. Moth smoke has bold views,passion,desire,hypocrisy and materialism . I feel sorry for the daru because its true you can't make it through life unless you have a foreign degree,uncles on high ranks and luxuries like air conditioning and pajeros. Moth smoke is a reflection of phrase “LIKE A MOTH TO A FLAME”. AN irresistible and dangerous love of attraction to someone or something. so yeah the book is definitely worth a read. ;)
